Sometimes, it’s not the BEST time to do certain things in Disney World.
Don’t believe us? What about riding Splash Mountain (soon to be Tiana’s Bayou Adventure) or Kali River Rapids when it’s freezing outside? Or eating a really heavy meal right before going on Rock ‘n’ Rollercoaster? While getting on a boat around Disney can be pretty awesome, there’s one time you really don’t want to do it — right when the Electrical Water Pageant is scheduled to happen.
This nighttime spectacular is a floating parade with adorable sea creatures traveling across Seven Seas Lagoon (in front of Magic Kingdom). Right now you can catch the enhanced version of the parade created for the 50th Anniversary (the show will return to the regular version after that event ends on March 31st, 2023). The 15-minute show runs several times every night from 8:25 to around 10:30PM.
You can get a view of the parade from the following Disney hotels:
- Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
- Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (including Narcoossee’s)
- Disney’s Wilderness Lodge
- Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground
- Disney’s Contemporary Resort
However, since the pageant takes place across the water, this is NOT a good time to get on a Disney boat on Seven Seas Lagoon. One of our reporters got stuck on a Disney boat for AN HOUR while the pageant was going on, and after a long park day, that is NOT where you want to be spending an hour when you could be getting ready for a good night’s sleep instead.
So be sure to keep this show in mind not only for nighttime entertainment but to ensure you don’t get trapped away from your hotel late at night. If you’re in doubt, just ask a nearby Cast Member about the status of the boats and when they would recommend taking one. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney news and tips!
