If you can’t get enough Disney news — you’ve come to the right place at the right time.
In the midst of new rides suddenly opening early, job cuts, executive shakeups, and more, keeping up with all the announcements is a full-time job. It happens to be our job, though, and we’re always looking out for the latest updates. An important event is taking place next week and we’re expecting some pretty huge announcements from Disney!
Disney previously announced that the 2023 annual meeting of shareholders will be held virtually on Monday, April 3rd, at 10AM Pacific Time (1PM ET). You can tune in virtually at www.virtualshareholdermeeting.com/DIS2023. During the meeting, Mark Parker will take over as the next Chairman of the Board of Disney Shareholders, and we expect to hear some other exciting announcements as well.
During shareholder meetings, Disney often reveals key things about what’s in the works at the Company, and answers key questions from shareholders so you never quite know what information might be shared!
Last year, we got some pretty juicy announcements and details about the new (at the time) Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, and Disney released a few movie trailers as well. While we’re not exactly sure what sort of announcements Disney might make this time around, we can guess based on what we’ve seen in the past.
There are quite a few projects in the works throughout the Disney parks and beyond. Splash Mountain is being transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Disney World, but we’re still waiting on an official closure date for the Disneyland version of the ride. Could Disney share an update with us during the meeting? We’ll find out soon!
Not only that, but there are a ton of new movies and shows in the works at Disney, and we could see new trailers released during the meeting. We’ve seen first looks and a teaser trailer for the new remake of the Haunted Mansion movie coming soon, but it’s possible we could see a full trailer! Of course, this is all speculation, but we can hope.
In addition to trailers, Disney could share more opening dates or timelines for upcoming productions. While we do know quite a few of these release dates already, things change and we could get some updated details.
During the shareholder meeting, investors will get the chance to ask CEO Bob Iger and other executives questions about how the company is doing, along with the future of Disney. Speaking of which, we might learn more about the search currently underway for the next Disney CEO. A few names have been tossed into the ring, but so far Disney has yet to confirm who might be in the running to replace Iger.
No matter what announcements we might hear during the 2023 Annual Shareholders Meeting, we’ll be bringing you all the details you need to know — big or small. We’re tuning into the meeting on April 3rd, so be sure to keep an eye on DFB for any news or announcements we might hear!
