Did you know there’s a special holiday called Children’s Day? Some parents may feel like every day ALREADY revolves around their children, but there’s actually a dedicated Children’s Day coming up in May just for kids! If you want to celebrate, the Japan Pavilion in Disney World has got you covered!

Japan Pavilion
Speaking of the Japan Pavilion in EPCOT, there are lots of exciting things to experience right now! For instance, a popular experience just reopened for the first time in three years, and did we mention that the pavilion is home to one of Disney World’s most expensive restaurants? Now, starting soon, you can celebrate Children’s Day in Disney’s Japan Pavilion, and you won’t want to miss out!
Disney just announced that you can celebrate Children’s Day on May 5th at the Mitsukoshi Department Store in the EPCOT World Showcase with a very special activity!
Guests can learn how to make Kabuto, the iconic Japanese samurai helmet, using origami taught by Cast Members on May 5th!
Now, what is Children’s Day? Well, Children’s Day is known in Japanese as “Kodomo no Hi” and is a Japanese holiday where the happiness and well-being of children are celebrated. Many Japanese families will display carp-shaped kites and samurai helmets to symbolize strength and perseverance.
If you’re looking for a fun activity to try with your kids, head to the Japan Pavilion! It’s not every day someone will hand you a skillfully made origami hat, after all! Keep in mind that this is a ONE-DAY activity, so you don’t have much time. As always, stay tuned to DFB for all the latest Disney World news.
