There’s a NEW hotel in Disney World that you might want to check out!
The Drury Plaza Lake Buena Vista is located in the Disney Springs area of Disney property, and though it’s not owned by Disney, it has some great perks that might just make your stay worthwhile. Included in your booking are both a continental breakfast and a 5:30PM “kickback” meal. On top of that, you’ll get some of the perks that Disney-owned hotels have, including Early Theme Park Entry. But we all know that the sleeping conditions matter when choosing a hotel, so what do the rooms look like?
We were recently invited out to check out the Drury Plaza Lake Buena Vista for a media event, during which we were given the opportunity to take a tour of some different hotel rooms and learn more about the amenities offered at this hotel.
One of the most impressive amenities in our opinion was that this hotel offers not one but TWO free meals every day!
You can take advantage of a free continental breakfast each morning during your stay, which includes a station where guests can make their own Mickey waffles.
Also offered at breakfast are scrambled eggs, a bacon and cheddar egg scramble, breakfast potatoes, sausage patties, pancakes, regular waffles, pastries, bread, bagels, and cereal.
Mickey waffles aside, this is a pretty standard breakfast option, although remember that Disney-owned hotels in Disney World do NOT offer a free continental breakfast, so you’re already saving some cash by staying at Drury instead.
But what’s NOT so standard is the 5:30PM “kickback” meal that is also offered to guests who stay at the Drury Plaza hotel. This meal is completely free and includes “a rotating menu of dinnertime snacks, cold beverages, beer, wine, mixed drinks, and more, every single night.” (Note that alcoholic beverages are not included in this meal at every Drury hotel, but they are at the Disney Springs Drury location).
Although the menu rotates every evening, some of the options might include things like salad, soup, chili, pasta, baked potatoes, nachos, and sliders. It’s enough to be a full dinner, which means you could save some serious cash on food by staying here.
Now, let’s check out the room! One of the rooms we toured was the Two Queen Room with a View, which sleeps four people.
As you may have guessed by the room type, there are two queen beds in each of these rooms. There’s also a sitting area, a desk, and a TV in the main part of the space.
When you book a room with a “view,” you get a pretty spectacular view of Disney World property, and you can even watch the EPCOT fireworks from some of these rooms!
The desk comes with a rolling chair and an in-room phone. There are several outlets spread throughout the room for plugging in your devices, as well. There’s a three-drawer dresser below the TV, which isn’t a lot of clothes storage for four people, but there’s a little more storage space in the entryway, too.
Each of the rooms without a balcony has a seating area next to the window. It comes with two little chairs, a table, and a lamp. Just imagine the view if you turned those chairs around and drank your morning coffee facing the window!
Also, the windows have double curtains for extra privacy. We were on the 12th floor, so we weren’t really at risk of people glancing into the windows, but it’s nice to have the option of closing the curtains.
Heading back out into the entryway of the room, there’s a great multipurpose space here. You’ve got a small wardrobe area with hangers for your clothes, as well as an ironing board and a safe. For food prep, each room comes with a mini fridge, a microwave, and a small, one-cup coffee maker.Â
There’s also a vanity and a small stool — a good place to sit and get ready if you have multiple people staying in one room, and you’re out of space in the bathroom.
And finally, we come to the bathroom. It’s all one space with a toilet, a sink, plenty of counter space, storage, and all the usual bathroom amenities like towels, hair dryers, and complimentary soaps.
There’s a walk-in shower with handrail, a small ledge for toiletry storage, and pump dispensers of Drury’s shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your use.
If you’re traveling as a party of one or two, you can also get this room configuration with just a King bed. We stepped inside a room across the hall to check it out, and it was all the same except for the bed and the fact that the layout was opposite.
So that’s a tour of a two-queen room with a view at the Drury near Disney Springs! We’ve got more room tours to share with you from this hotel in the future, so stay tuned to DFB for all the updates. We’ll keep you in the loop.

Thank you for doing this article! I was just looking into the Drury as a place to stay and trying to convince the teenage kiddo with the two free meals.

How about transportation from the Drury Hotel? How far is it from Disney Springs buses? Also do they charge for parking?
Margaret Gordon says
We just stayed at the Drury Plaza about a week ago, and we can say we will definitely stay here again. It doesn’t have the on-site convenience of a Disney hotel, but the rooms are perfectly comfortable. We have two scooters, so we asked for a handicapped-accessible room, and there was room for both scooters near electric outlets, with room left over to get around the room. We liked having the extra sink outside the bathroom. The meals that are included in the room price are not fancy, but there’s plenty to eat and it’s pretty decent. The staff in the meal area is very pleasant and accommodating. They even sang Happy Birthday to my husband!
Transportation to Disney is…not bad. The buses run about every hour (not all at the same time), and there is a printed schedule available. The buses are smaller than the Disney ones, and I would imagine they would fill up pretty quick at peak times. The drivers are VERY helpful, and that goes a long way when you can’t just leap onto the bus. At busier times, we were told that you should reserve spaces on the bus if you’re using a scooter.
You can use a Disney bus to and from Disney Springs and walk (or ride your scooter!) between there and the hotel. On a scooter it took us about 10 minutes when we tried it. YMMV.
And yes, they do charge for parking. No breaks for handicapped tags.

In April we recently stayed at the Drury Plaza Hotel, Disney Springs for 4 nights. We had a two queen room with a balcony. Very comfortable!!! We would highly recommend staying here. The people were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast and kickback meals were delicious (saved us lots of money). The free shuttles were convenient and timely. Nice pool, hot tub and splash pad area. Yes, they charge for parking which was $25 per day.

I think continental breakfast means fruit, coffee and pastries, not hot food like eggs and bacon. Did Drury Plaza call it a continental breakfast?
DFB Gigi says
Hi Sharyn! The pictures in this article as well as the review are from our most recent stay so eggs and bacon, along with the other items described are available.
