There are plenty of reasons why you’d want to stay at a Disney World hotel — convenience, theming, and of course, perks!
One of our favorites happens to be Extended Evening Hours, which allows folks exclusive time in select parks. Right now, folks can visit EPCOT and Magic Kingdom on select nights, but Disney just announced that Extended Evening Hours are coming back to Hollywood Studios and we’ve got all the details!
Disney World offers Extended Evening Theme Park Hours for select guests, giving them extra hours in the parks! Unlike Early Theme Park Hours, Extended Evening Hours are offered only at one park per specific date. Right now, you’ll find this extra perk in EPCOT and Magic Kingdom, but Disney just announced that Extended Evening Hours are coming back to Hollywood Studios!
People staying at select Disney World hotels can experience Extended Evening Hours at Hollywood Studios on September 30th and October 5th, 11th, 19th, and 25th. Multiple iconic rides will be available!
Here’s a look at the rest of the Extended Evening Hours for September 2023 (as announced so far):
- Monday, September 4th — EPCOT, 9PM – 11PM
- Wednesday, September 6th — Magic Kingdom, 10PM – Midnight
- Monday, September 11th — EPCOT, 9PM – 11PM

Does Shades of Green get evening hours?

Thank you for the update!
I would like to add a comment about how Disney has excluded the value and moderate hotels. In the past, all patrons staying on property could participate.
My family is not fond of yet another change DISNEY made. This perk should not separate people into a “class”. It’s forced a separation between family and friends vacationing together. Some may stay in deluxe resorts, some in value or moderate. This means families cannot enjoy magic hours together. Disney is supposed to be family friendly but this too has been eliminated! With the ridiculous increases in everything Disney, families are forced to down scale to afford a Disney vacation. To take away magic hours is to further make Disney unwelcoming to many.
This change is not necessary and unwanted! The parks can easily accommodate magic hours for all just as they have in the past.
Even morning hours have been slashed!
Disney needs to step up and start righting all the wrongs they’ve initiated!

Yay! This is wonderful news. We are staying at the boardwalk in October, so I changed my days for Mickey’s NSSHP from Thursday to Friday to attend the Extended Evening hours at our favorite park. Thank you Disney Cast members, for allowing me to make this change. 🙂

I wish they would go back to letting all guest do the Extra Magic Evening hours. I know AOA is considered a value resort but the rice we are paying in December does not feel that way.

It is really ugly that Disney is creating a caste system at Disney World by not allowing guests at moderate and economy Disney hotels to participate in extra evening magic hours.

The DHS EMH date of October 25th (a Wednesday) is confusing since the MK EMH is usually on a Wednesday. Does this mean they will make you choose between which park you want to go to or are they changing the MK EMH schedule come October?

Like most guests, I am still upset that only the DELUX hotels get what WE ALL USED TO GET. Staying in any of the onsite hotels is NOT cheap, especially because most of us have traveled from far distances JUST to get to WDW. I have been to WDW 3 times now and with this trip coming up, I feel excluded because I am at a Moderate hotel that is costing me $6000 plus for the few days we are there. That is not a little amount of money. We should all be treated equally with the hours of staying at a Disney hotel. Not fair at all.

I can remember when Disney World used to treat all of us guests equally and allow even those of us on a disability level income enjoy the extra magic hours. It was nice when we could feel like Disney World didn’t discriminate against us people with disability incomes. 😞

I think it’s pretty crappy that all resort guests are not included in the evening hours. It’s really not fair. We pay a lot of money to come there just because we don’t stay in a deluxe resort. Shouldn’t mean that we can’t stay for the extra park hours.
