A classic Magic Kingdom attraction is CHANGING soon!
Now, we know change can be scary, but we think this may be one you’ll really like. Disney has announced all kinds of updates and changes at this year’s Destination D23 event, but this might be one of the most surprising announcements they’ve made yet!
Disney just announced that an NEW SHOW is coming to Country Bear Jamboree in Magic Kingdom! In 2024, the beloved bears will be learning an all-new act — they’ll sing their usual songs in new styles like country, rockabilly, and bluegrass.
The show will be a take on the classic variety shows found in Nashville, Tennessee, and Nashville musicians are involved in the new arrangements. We do know we’ll be seeing a new version of “Bare Necessities” in a rockabilly style!
The Disney Imagineer on stage said, “The music is going to be amazing, and the show will still have the fun and friendly tone that we all love about the Country Bears.”
Country Bear Jamboree is located in Frontierland. It’s a “country-and-western musical revue” performed by animatronic bears. Disney explains, “When the show debuts, the bears will be reinterpreting favorite Disney songs in different genres of country music. Imagineers are envisioning the new experience as a homage to the classic musical revues in Nashville, and they’re working with Nashville musicians to get the authentic country sound.”
This is one of the last attractions that Walt Disney was personally involved in creating, and it’s been part of Magic Kingdom since 1971. Rest assured, Disney fans, Disney explained “The Country Bear Jamboree will still have the fun and friendly tone fans enjoy with the same famous characters like the loveable Trixie, Big Al and others.”
