It’s 2024 and Disney World is going to look a LOT different in January!
Not only are park pass rules changing, but the Disney Dining Plan is making its long-awaited return to Disney World. We’ve been telling you which restaurants have the best value so that you can make the most of the Dining Plan on your next trip, but now there’s an exclusive deal you need to know about!
Disney+ subscribers, this one is for you! Starting on January 3rd, 2024, Disney+ subscribers can get the Disney Dining Plan for FREE when they purchase a non-discounted 4-night, 4-day Walt Disney Travel Company package. This package must include a room at a select Disney hotel and Park Hopper theme park ticket.
This new deal is available for trips most nights from July 1st to September 30th, 2024. If you qualify for this deal, you’ll be able to book starting January 3rd, 2024. Disney also said to look out for more information on the deal starting on that date.
There are many perks to being a Disney+ subscriber and you can read all about them here. Disney has offered a free Dining Plan deal in the past, but this is the first once since the announcement of the Plan’s return.
If you follow Disney news, you probably know that the Dining Plans are returning on January 9th, and you probably also know that, when the plans return, they’ll look a little different than they did before. Rules have changed, some restaurants have changed their credit requirements, and the prices have been updated as well. We’ll be testing out the new Dining Plan so stay tuned to DFB for everything you need to know!
New to the Disney Dining Plan? No worries. Disney Dining Plans are an optional add-on to a Disney World Vacation Package (which also includes your Disney World hotel room and theme park tickets.) This means that the Disney Dining Plan is exclusive to guests staying in a Disney World Resort hotel. Disney Dining Plans are pre-purchased, so all you have to do when you get to Disney World is head to a restaurant that accepts the Disney Dining Plan and you’re good to use it!
One of the biggest changes is that there are only two Dining Plan options when it returns — the Standard Disney Dining Plan and the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan.
According to the Disney World website, inclusions for the Standard Disney Dining Plan are as follows:
-
- Everyone in the travel party will receive 1 Table-Service meal per night, 1 Quick-Service meal per night and 1 snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of their package stay—along with 1 Resort-refillable drink mug. Meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during the stay.
- Beverages are included with each meal. Guests under 21 years of age may choose from a variety of nonalcoholic beverages. Guests 21 and older with valid identification may substitute for beer, wine and cocktails.
The cost for the Standard Disney Dining Plan for 2024 is $94.28 per adult, per night (ages 10 and up), and $29.69 per child, per night (ages 3 to 9). When the Standard Disney Dining Plan was last available in 2020, the cost was $78.01 per adult, per night, and $30.51 per child, per night.
According to the Disney World website, inclusions for the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan are as follows:
- Everyone in the travel party (ages 3 and up) will receive 2 Quick-Service meals per night, and 1 snack/nonalcoholic drink per night of their package stay – along with 1 Resort-refillable drink mug. Meals and snacks can be redeemed at any time during the stay.
- Beverages are included with each meal. Guests under 21 years of age may choose from a variety of nonalcoholic beverages. Guests 21 and older with valid identification may substitute for beer, wine and cocktails.
The cost for the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan for 2024 is $57.01 per adult, per day, and $23.83 per child (ages 3 to 9), per day. When the Quick Service Disney Dining Plan was last available in 2020, the cost was $55.00 per adult, per night, and $26.00 per child, per night.

I know details won’t be released on the Disney website until tomorrow, but do we think this means the entire party will get free dining or just the individual Disney+ subscriber? Disney Parks Blog announcement says “… subscribers can get a FREE dining plan when purchasing…”. Curious if ‘a Free dining’ meant 1 free dining plan or depending on your vacation package one of the two (quick service/standard) dining plans.

I was just on the Disney site and not only has the free dining package disappeared but all the discounts have disappeared. They said it expired but there was nothing in the listing that showed an expiration date.
