Trust us, we know how tempting it probably is to buy every single souvenir that catches your eye on your Disney World trip.
But, unless you’ve got some sort of Mary Poppins or Hermione-esque magic bag, that probably isn’t a very good idea. We love Disney souvenirs as much as the next fan, and chances are you’re not talking about this major problem — but you probably should be.
Join us, Dear DFB reader, on a journey through yesteryear. You see, there once was a time in Disney World when Disney would send souvenir purchases you made in the parks back to your hotel room so you didn’t have to lug them around with you all day. And, not only that, but it was completely free.
But, when Disney World shuttered its doors during the COVID-19 pandemic, package delivery was shuttered as well. Now that nearly everything has returned to “normal” in the parks and resorts, it would make sense that Disney would bring this service back, right? RIGHT???
Well, maybe not. As of now, there aren’t any signs that Disney plans on bringing package delivery back, but we’re still holding out hope. This was a major bonus and a big reason folks even chose to stay at Disney World hotels in the first place. Being able to purchase a souvenir or two and not have to worry about dragging it around with you all day was a huge perk and we know we’re not the only ones who miss it!
Even though package delivery may not be back yet for 2024, there are still a few solutions to your package problem. First, you could rent one of the Disney lockers to store your items so you don’t need to hold onto them.
Disney also offers a shipping service so you can have the item sent to your home — for an added fee. This can be a solid option if you’re purchasing a larger item or just don’t have much space left in your suitcase (we know the feeling). They will even ship your items internationally, with a few exceptions. It may not be the service we once knew and loved, but it’s something!

I used to utilize this service all the time on my vacations. Now I don’t buy anything too large, too fragile, or too expensive to carry around with me all day. Less money for Mickey, more for me, I guess.

Disney World in Florida does have package delivery. I have used it during and after masked ended. Maybe not everywhere, but I know they do have it,

I ABSOLUTELY AGREE!!! My adult daughter and I were there for 14 days in January of 2022. We bought less souvenirs than normal because, while we DID rent a large locker in each park, it was still a pain-in-the-neck to take our purchases back up to the locker(s). THEN we had to gather them up on our way out..take them to our room and on our last night, we took everything to our gift shop to send off by UPS. That was the only good experience–it was only $34 to ship everything back home.
If Disney was SMART…they would re-implement the ship merchandise back to the resorts..Personally, we would BUY Way more stuff ($$$$) if we could send it all back to our resort.
Are you listening???? Disney????

They have and keep cutting everything, not only that package service but anyone else notice the amount of shops closed? And less merch even being offered? The studios is the worst, half that park is shuddered and its less than half of what they use to have. The merch is all generic and very little if anything that actually has the specific park name on it except for maybe at epcot. Its all this trendy muck that isnt even moving. They have really lost their way and selection and amount of stores is nowhere near what it use to be. Half of the studios stores are closed if not more,,,,,the nice big gift shop in the front of AK closed up, stores in the MK shuddered…I mean really? There are even less kiosks around that also use to have a lot. They place is operating like its going out of business. Its time for new management and get rid of Iger and D’maro and the accountants at TDO. This is the problem its all being ran by spreadsheets. and Disney not wanting to pay anymore cast than they have to, Minimum wage going up was not good. Now no one wants to hire anyone.

I too used this service before it was stopped when Covid hit. I now don’t purchase too much because I hate carrying things around. I know if they bring this back I would be spending much more
I hope Disney is listening

Thank you so much for keeping this conversation at the forefront. It is clearly important to a lot of people, my family included. I just hope that if/when it comes back, it’s not something just for deluxe resorts, like evening extra magic hours became. But if they could factor it in for everyone in the past, they can do it now. We don’t mind paying for a lot of upcharge experiences, but we prefer longer visits at moderate resorts over staying in deluxe hotels. And even for me, if Disney takes one more thing that used to be free or included and makes it a charge or something that’s only for deluxe guests, I’m not sure how much longer we will continue visiting regularly or even at all. Too many extra costs just to get the experience to approximate what it used to be. It’s not just about affording it or not affording it, it feels bad. Especially when you start looking around at all the places where you can get every perk for the same or less.
