A new lawsuit has been filed against Disney, this time involving a cast member from the popular show, The Mandalorian.
Not long after a judge ruled to throw out the federal case Disney had filed against Ron Desantis, a new suit has been filed against the entertainment company. An actress, known for her character Cara Dune on the Disney+ Star Wars series, is suing Disney for discrimination and wrongful termination, and she is being backed by Elon Musk.
Gina Carano, the MMA fighter turned actress, has filed a complaint in California federal court against Disney and Lucasfilm, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The lawsuit alleges that she was fired for sharing her Republican opinions on social media.
She is looking to win the case which would require Lucasfilm to recast her and pay at least $75,000 and punitive damages. Carano was fired in 2021 after she shared a post that implied that “being a Republican is like being Jewish during the Holocaust.” She had often posted on social media, primarily X, about sensitive topics about her right-wing opinions.
Carano claims that Disney and Lucasfilm “harassed and defamed” her for not conforming to their viewpoints on several political topics such as Black Lives Matter, preferred pronouns, and election interference. She also claims that male costars, who had made offensive posts against Republicans, were not punished or fired.
The complaint states, “Defendants (Disney and Lucasfilm) went so far as to try and convince Carano’s publicist to force Carano to issue a statement admitting to mocking or insulting an entire group of people, which Carano had never done.” According to the case and The Hollywood Reporter, Lucasfilm president, Kathleen Kennedy, told Carano to meet with her and 45 employees who identified as LGBTQ+, to which Carano refused and was then fired shortly after.
The suit, which claims wrongful discharge and sex discrimination, is being funded by Elon Musk via X. Elon Musk had recently pledged that X would fund legal action for anyone who claims they faced discrimination for their activity on the social media platform. Musk stated that the offer to fund lawsuits came with “no limit” to cost and that he would “go after the boards of directors of the companies, too.”

Here’s the thing. Disney did something similar to Jonny Depp and now they want him back. He refused the first time. He is now ready to work with Disney again. Now they’re doing this again to another star because they don’t like them.

The world would be a better place without Elon Musk. It’s unfortunate that a visionary with technology can be such a miserable human being. He is slowly running any organization he is connected to into the ground. Poster boy for horrible leader.
