Actress Gina Carano and Disney Settle Lawsuit 4 Years After ‘The Mandalorian’ Firing

Disney and actress Gina Carano have come to an agreement regarding their legal dispute.

The actress filed a lawsuit that was funded by Elon Musk against The Walt Disney Company after she was fired in 2021 from the Disney+ series, The Mandalorian. Disney claimed that the actress was fired after she made the decision to “trivialize the Holocaust” due to certain comments made by the actress. Carano stated that she had been unfairly targeted and bullied by the company, and since then, there has been a lot of back and forth with the legal dispute. Now that dispute seems to be over.

We finally have a temporary truce in the battle between Disney and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t more cases on the docket for the House of Mouse. Former Star Wars actress Gina Carano was fired from her role in 2021. Since then, she has been pretty vocal and has even caught the eye of fellow Disney critic Elon Musk to file a lawsuit in California federal court against Disney and Lucasfilm. But, Disney has filed a new request that hopes to squash the beef.

NEWS: Former ‘Star Wars’ Actress Finally Comments on Being Fired by Disney, Feels “Unfairly Targeted and Bullied”

Gina Carano‘s Hollywood career has been a topic of contention for years. In 2021, #FireGinaCarano became a trending Twitter campaign following Carano’s association with a controversial image reposted online. Disney took notice and ultimately fired the actress via a statement from a Lucasfilm spokesperson.

A new lawsuit has been filed against Disney, this time involving a cast member from the popular show, The Mandalorian.

Not long after a judge ruled to throw out the federal case Disney had filed against Ron Desantis, a new suit has been filed against the entertainment company. An actress, known for her character Cara Dune on the Disney+ Star Wars series, is suing Disney for discrimination and wrongful termination, and she is being backed by Elon Musk.
