Going on a Disney Cruise is very different from vacationing in the Disney parks.
While the parks are usually go, go, go, a Disney Cruise is much more laid back. That includes when you head to Disney’s private island, Castaway Cay. While you can go snorkeling, parasailing, bike around the island, etc., you can also just lie on a towel and relax! You can also meet some of your favorite characters on the island, but if you do, you should know that there’s been a change recently!
Our favorite pals will now be meeting guests on Castaway Cay in all-new outfits! Their new attire celebrates the “fun, colorful and natural environment of this tropical oasis,” according to Disney.

Mickey and Minnie are ready to swim the day away in new outfits that represent the iconic colors of Disney Cruise Line. Not only does he have the waves on his hat, but the details on his shirt also pay tribute to the first time we saw him on the water as Steamboat Willie. Minnie, on the other hand, has the ship’s wheel on her belt!
Meanwhile, Daisy’s ready to relax on the beach in her lounge wrap dress complete with nautical details, and Donald’s ready to snorkel with his underwater pals, like the ones seen on his floaties.
Goofy’s ready to play all the sports he can in his practical outfit, and Pluto’s celebrating all the other animals on the island and the ship.
But Chip and Dale are ready for an adventure like no other — they’ve used materials found around Castaway Cay to make their own homemade pirate costumes! But they’ve got their swim trunks and life jackets on, because their adventure may just take them to the sea.
We love these new outfits, but we’ll definitely miss the old ones and all the memories they held as well.
