Disney has recently put a lot of focus on its Disney Vacation Club (DVC) properties.
In fact, TWO new DVC properties are set to open this year in Disney World alone. First, the Polynesian Village Resort is getting some brand new DVC villas (and we’ve been following the construction). But The Cabins at Fort Wilderness have also recently received a makeover and will become new DVC cabins. Disney previously released a video outlining some of the details you’ll see in the new cabins, but a few NEW details have now been revealed.
In the previous video, Disney revealed details like the artwork of Mickey and Pluto arriving at Fort Wilderness with their trailer. The artwork is actually inspired by a short called Mickey’s Trailer. This artwork is on the outside of a wall that converts into a bed over the living room sofa. Yep — those famous pull-down Disney beds strike again!
A NEW video released by DVC shows some details on the room’s throw pillows, which feature trees, canoes, and a tent, all representative of Fort Wilderness.
We’ve also seen a peek at the details on the canoe oars hanging by the bunk beds, which are inspired by colors representing Mickey, Minnie, and their friends.
This room also has a collage of postcards, including one postcard for River Country. Easter egg alert! River Country was Disney World’s first water park, although it closed in 2001. Gone, but not forgotten.
The rooms also feature some clever storage, including drawers under the beds. Other neat features include step stools in the bathrooms for kids and charging ports built into the lanterns next to the bunk beds.
The rooms have a TON of Chip ‘n’ Dale references, including on artwork, on curtains, and on a mural behind the bunk beds. However, we spotted a NEW Chip ‘n’ Dale reference in the new video. The date “November 19th” can be seen above Dale. Well, that date is VERY important because Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort officially opened on November 19th, 1971. Cool, huh?
You can watch the NEW video below:
You’ll be able to see these details for yourself if you book a room at the new DVC Cabins, which will officially open on July 1st, 2024.

Hi David! These photos were provided to us by Disney. We will have more pictures coming once we are able to go inside the cabins ourselves. 🙂
