Brightline is keeping the news coming! 👏
Recently, Brightline has been giving us SO much to discuss. Whether it’s their different travel perks, or their plans to expand out west — there is SO much happening for them right now. Recently, we just got an update about a NEW stop that is coming to their route, and we need to talk about it!
If you’ve driven on Florida highways, you may have seen Brightline trains zipping past you. Recently, they have become a NEW way to travel around central Florida and beyond. They have been adding new stops throughout the state (including one at Orlando International Airport), and they now plan to add yet ANOTHER stop on their route.
Brightline is planning to come to Cocoa! If you haven’t heard of Cocoa before, it’s a beautiful coastal city known for its beaches, Cape Canaveral, and space travel. They are the home to Kennedy Space Center and SpaceX — and in the future, they plan to be the home for a new Brightline station.
These plans are still in the works, but Brightline is hopeful that they will come to an agreement soon. Cocoa is prepared to begin their negotiations, and stakeholders have even voted to put a significant amount of money towards developing the train station.
If you plan to make a stop in Cocoa when this station is built, you’ll be in for a treat! On top of all of the MAJOR things listed above to do, there is also a TON of great food, as well as other things to do throughout Brevard County, the county that Cocoa is in. You can watch rocket launches from the beach, take in the views of various cruise ships, and lay out in the sun — all within one afternoon (and some at the same time)!
This expansion is MAJOR, and we will be keeping our eyes out for more info. Keep checking in with us at DFB to see what happens next!

Its not cocoa Beach….its just Cocoa….the city of Cocoa Beach is about 10 miles east…there’s an island and 2 rivers between the 2 separate cities

We need more access here. We had a bus system, multiple airports, greyhound station years ago. Our small town is growing; transit it definitely something we need. I think the closest train is Cordele.

We would love The St. Petersburg area to have a Brightline stop! This would be so nice for people coming to the Rays games or people wanting to go to Disneyworld. With all the traffic here it would help so much!!
