We love pretty much everything about Disney World (okay except maybe the crowds, lines, and prices) but characters make the experience all the better!
Earlier this year, Disney announced that new character meet-and-greets would be coming to some of the parks this summer and we’ve been excited to check them out ever since. But, just like most Disney World changes, bringing in something new means having to say goodbye to something else — and it looks like we may have missed our chance to say goodbye to a popular character at EPCOT!
Beginning on June 10th, we will be able to meet a NEW Pixar character at Disney’s Hollywood Studios — Joy from Inside Out! She’ll be joining a bunch of her Pixar pals at Pixar Plaza just in time for the release of Inside Out 2! But, Disney didn’t tell us just when that meant Joy’s current meet and greet at EPCOT’s Imagination Pavilion would end.
We stopped by to say hi to Joy at EPCOT the other day and a Cast Member hanging out with us let us know that Joy would be leaving EPCOT very soon — and now we think we know what she meant because Joy appears to be missing from EPCOT!
When we checked My Disney Experience on May 12th and 13th, we noticed that Joy’s meet and greet wasn’t showing up at EPCOT or Hollywood Studios. It’s possible this could mean that Joy might not be meeting guests at all until June 10th, when her meet and greet officially opens at Hollywood Studios. We could see her pop back up at EPCOT, but we’ll let you know if we do.
When we stopped by on May 13th, she was nowhere to be found!
Not gonna lie, this feels…sad! 😭 pic.twitter.com/F6XxjNy6IX
