Yes, we like to keep up with McDonald’s news because we eat at McDonald’s almost as much as we eat at Disney.
Granted, we love getting those Disney-themed Happy Meals (even when they sometimes spoil movies). We also like to try new items that pop up at McDonald’s from time to time. Well, speaking of new, there’s a brand NEW McFlurry and it’s inspired by…well…your grandma!
So what’s the Grandma inspiration all about? McDonald’s is inviting folks to celebrate their grandmothers and “recreate some of those cherished moments this summer by treating themselves to the Grandma McFlurry.” The Grandma McFlurry will be available starting on May 21st, but it’s only for a limited time.
So what’s with the Grandma inspiration? Well, its flavor features a delicious syrup and chopped, crunchy candy pieces (just like those caramel candies she always kept in her purse). This is blended into McDonald’s vanilla soft serve. So if you love butterscotch and want to honor Grandma, you’ll want to grab this sweet treat.
Want to try the McFlurry before everyone else? Grandma’s McFlurry Mobile (yes, McDonald’s is bringing out an ice cream truck) will offer a FREE sample of the new McFlurry before May 21st. If you hear an ice cream truck rolling through your neighborhood playing the McDonald’s jingle, you better run after it! Of course, you’ll need to live in New York City when the McFlurry Mobile rolls around on May 17th and May 18th — it will even make some stops near senior centers and assisted living homes.
McDonald’s is also using music to give you a chance to connect with your grandmother. The company partnered with Remi Wolf for a new cover of the classic song “How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You,” which will be available on all music platforms on May 21st. Plus two-time Latin Grammy nominee Jay Wheeler is covering a classic Latin song, “Piel Canela.”
McDonald’s is also donating to Little Brothers — Friends of the Elderly, a charity that supports older adults who are dealing with isolation and loneliness.
