Calling all Tangled and Rapunzel fans! Fantasy Springs is FINALLY here, and so are its NEW RIDES — including one themed to the iconic Disney movie starring our favorite blondie.
Tokyo DisneySea’s highly anticipated new land, Fantasy Springs, is opening on June 6th; but we’re getting the chance to ride the land’s three BRAND NEW RIDES, including one based on a beloved Disney film that’s NEVER had a ride before. Welcome to Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival!
Yes, this all-new ride is themed to Tangled and follows along with the same story we already know and love. The ride starts off with Punzie singing “When Will My Life Begin?” and you’ll get to watch hers and Flynn Rider’s love story take place firsthand. Well, when we wrote and posted about this new attraction, the internet went WILD! Yes, the internet is obsessed with this new ride, and we’re going to talk more about some aspects of the ride that totally warrant that obsession. Let’s go!
Seeing the lantern scene in person.
If you’ve seen Tangled, then you probably already know that Rapunzel’s dream is to see the lanterns as they float through the sky. Toward the end of the movie, her dream comes true as she sits in a boat with Flynn Rider — underneath a sky filled with shimmering lanterns after her life spent in a tower.
It’s a pretty emotional scene, and seeing it in person is so spectacular. It’s absolutely GORGEOUS and left us breathless. The song “I See The Light” plays here, too, of course! It only adds to the high emotions. 😭
Pascal is here and there and everywhere.
Let’s be honest. Pascal is one of the MOST iconic characters in the movie. He doesn’t say a word, and is still one of our favorite Disney characters ever. Throughout the ride, you’ll actually spot him several times!
The best part? You can spot him on the boat with Punzie and Flynn Rider during the lantern scene!
Yep, as if we hadn’t already cried enough tears.
She paints her NEW DREAM.
After the ride is over, the final room is covered in her art. If you remember from the movie, she painted many pictures of her dream — to see the lanterns.
However, at the end of the ride itself, you’ll see that she’s painted a picture of her and Flynn. Y’all! She painted her new dream. 😭
This is probably one of our most favorite subtle hints throughout the entire ride. It makes us want to tear up all over again just thinking about it!
We absolutely loved this ride, and we’d even go as far as to say that it is one of our favorite Disney rides we’ve ever experienced. We’ll be sure to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop and never miss a thing.
