Y’all. It is HOT in Disney World right now — we are not even joking. Not only that, though, it’s also humid (we’re not joking when we say it’s not the heat; it’s the humidity that gets you).
Anyway, you know what that means, right? It means we’re going to give you our Disney World summer advice, like telling you to stay hydrated, stay cool, take advantage of air conditioning throughout Disney World, and pace yourself. But one thing that’s really enjoyable on a hot day is a nice frozen drink, right? Well, if you’re enjoying some pool time at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort, that could be a little tricky because one bar is not serving frozen drinks right now.
Banana Cabana at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is not serving frozen drinks right now. We noticed that the frozen drinks machines were missing when we recently visited. Here’s what the bar looked like previously; you can see that the frozen drinks machines are under the green mantel.
Here’s what that looks like now. The frozen drinks machines are obviously gone.
So, why are there no more frozen drinks at Banana Cabana? Well, a Cast Member confirmed that a lightning strike during a thunderstorm over the weekend somehow affected the machines, so they were taken out. However, the drinks have not been removed from the online menus, so we can assume that they will return once the machines are fixed or replaced. Let’s face it — Banana Cabana is THE spot to go for frozen drinks and we doubt they’re gone for good.
We were also told that the thunderstorm caused some power outages at the resort, so it must’ve been a doozy. So, if you want to treat yourself to a frozen drink, you’ll just have to go somewhere else. However, other drinks are still being served here, so you can still order something tropical and cold if that’s what you’re craving.
If all else fails, you can always easily hop on the Skyliner to enjoy drinks at any of the other Skyliner Hotels, like Bar Riva at Disney’s Riviera Resort, any of the bars at the EPCOT area hotels, including Boardwalk Joe’s, or at the pool bars at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort or Disney’s Pop Century Resort. There are plenty of options!

We’ll check back with Banana Cabana again and let you know when the frozen drinks return, so you’ll want to stay tuned to DFB for more information.
