Disney+ has a commercial teed up to air during the Super Bowl!
This year’s ad focuses on the company’s three major streaming platforms — Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN+ — featuring anchor franchises and programming from all three. As per AdWeek, a 30-second cut of the spot will air during the Fox broadcast of Super Bowl LIX, sometime near the end of the first quarter or beginning of the second, depending on gameplay’s effect on ad-break placement times. A minute-long cut is currently available on YouTube and other social platforms.
The minute-long clip is set to a piano recording of the classic song “La Vie en Rose,” and features narration from Olaf voice actor Josh Gad postulating on “What If?” Famous events from Disney-produced and owned media never happened.
The clip begins with Gad asking, “What If? Questions about a… diverse range of properties including Star Wars (“What if there was no galaxy far, far away?”), Inside Out, The Avengers, The Bear, The Lion King, Serena Williams’ ESPN documentary, The Simpsons, Frozen, and Only Murders in the Building before transitioning to how lucky we are that those things did happen.
The ad’s eclectic mix really drives home the diverse content options available to those who purchase the Disney+/ESPN+/Hulu bundle.
The release of the ad followed just hours after Disney’s Q1 earnings report for 2025 was released. Disney’s streaming business delivered its second straight profitable quarter with an operating income of $293 million on revenue of $6.07 billion, up 9%. Disney+ lost a net 700,000 customers worldwide (less than analysts anticipated) while Hulu gained 1.6 million (also better than expected).
Disney’s 2025 Super Bowl ad brings together the company’s biggest properties from under the Disney+, Hulu, and ESPN umbrellas. Stay tuned to DFB for more on Disney entertainment offerings.
