HEADS UP! This Disney World Transportation CLOSURE Could Impact Your Trip

Planning your Disney trip includes picking your hotel, deciding what foods to eat, and deciding what rides to prioritize. While you’re planning, you also need to check the construction calendar because there might be some major changes that will impact your Disney stay and we’ve just confirmed a big change!

If you’re staying at Old Key West anytime soon, you need to read this! We confirmed that from February 10th until early April, the boat transportation from Old Key West to Disney Springs will be unavailable.

One of our favorite things about different Disney resorts is the variety of transportation options so something like this can really throw a wrench in your plans. Disney did confirm resort buses will be available as an alternative while the boats are unavailable.

Old Key West is a Disney Springs resort and you are able to walk to Disney’s shopping and dining district if you want to! The walk is roughly 35 minutes so it might not be for everyone which is why we’re glad to see the bus availability. The lack of boat transportation could lead to longer lines at the bus stop when headed to Disney Springs so take that into account when you’re headed to dinner.

Old Key West isn’t the only resort undergoing construction right now! Disney’s Pop Century Resort recently completed a major update on its food court which took several months. The Swan and Dolphin is also getting a major overhaul by adding a new convention center, renovated rooms, and technology updates.

While we love Disney World hotel updates, they can impact your hotel stay in a few different ways.
