If you’re a Star Wars fan, you need to go to Disneyland NOW.
That’s because Disneyland’s annual Season of the Force, a celebration of all things Star Wars, has officially kicked off and will run through May 11th. Now, we’ve already told you a little bit about this year’s celebration, like what kind of special food and drinks will be offered, as well as shown off that GORGEOUS Death Star popcorn bucket. But we want to fill you in on everything ELSE that’s happening in Disneyland during this special season.
We got a chance to attend a media preview of Season of the Force, and we’re coming in HOT with EVERYTHING you’ll need to add to your list for the big celebration. First, a brand-new character has come to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, and it’s THE character, the one who started it all, Luke Skywalker. Yep, you can now meet Luke Skywalker in Disneyland.
This is also your chance to ride Hyperspace Mountain — yes, Space Mountain has been given a Star Wars overlay, sending you flying through the darkest corners of the galaxy far, far away.
There is also some special nighttime entertainment, including Shadows of Memory: A Skywalker Saga. This special projection show across the spires of Batuu tells the legendary story of the Skywalkers.
The show is accompanied by an iconic musical score. You’ll want to check the Disneyland app for showtimes, but this show usually runs twice a night.
Then, of course, there are the FIREWORKS. The Fire of the Rising Moons is a NEW way to witness the Disneyland fireworks show, complete with Star Wars music.
You can catch this nighttime spectacular on select nights in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge. Enjoy this show from multiple areas in Batuu, like the Black Spire Spaceport (near Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run), the TIE Echelon docking platform (near First Order Cargo), and the speeder garage (near Droid Depot).
Okay, let’s talk merchandise real quick. You know those awesome Create-Your-Own-Headbands? Well, Star Wars characters are now officially available for those, including Yoda, R2-D2, an Ewok, Darth Vader, and a Stormtrooper. Here’s a sneak peek at some of the other merchandise that will be available.
So, yes, NOW is the time for Star Wars fans to make their way to Disneyland because this season is ALL FOR YOU. Stay tuned to DFB for more, and may the Force be with you.

We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney to attend their media preview of Season of the Force. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy.
