In just one week, something NEW arrives in Disney World that we haven’t seen in years.
It’s been far too long since there’s been a nighttime parade in Disney World. Past parades would light up Main Street, U.S.A., and are one of the most nostalgic Disney experiences we remember (we still miss you, Main Street Electrical Parade!). In just one week, the park’s new parade, Disney Starlight: Dream The Night Away, premieres, and if you haven’t been counting down the days like us, here’s everything you need to know before heading to Magic Kingdom.
On July 20th, Disney Starlight will have its opening day in Magic Kingdom, and we’re expecting BIG crowds. This parade will be “using the latest technology to tell new stories about the characters you love,” and at its opening, it will show at 9 PM and 11 PM in the park, except on nights where special Halloween and holiday events are taking place.

A new nighttime parade “Disney Starlight” will come to Magic Kingdom in Summer 2025 using the latest technology to bring Disney stories to life and will feature moments from fan-favorite films like Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Peter Pan,” “Frozen” and “Encanto.”
This new parade will feature tons of beloved characters, such as the Blue Fairy from Pinocchio, as well as characters from Encanto, Frozen, Moana, and Peter Pan. You’ll also get to see Princess and Prince duos like Aurora and Philip, Tiana and Naveen, Cinderella and Prince Charming, and Belle and the Beast.
We also know that floats inspired by Coco and Wish will be included in the parade!
Then, the grand finale float, which is inspired by the classic Main Street Electrical Parade float, features some very special friends like Mickey, Minnie, Daisy, Donald, Pluto, and Goofy! Disney says that, “Together, the duo [of Mickey and Minnie] sends us off, reminding us to believe in the power of wishing upon a star.”
We can’t wait to see this show, and if you feel the same, you’ll want to get your spot along the parade route EARLY! If you’re an Annual Passholder, you need to know that park pass reservation rules have CHANGED due to this parade. For dates starting July 20th, for a limited time, Annual Passholders will NEED to have a park pass reservation to enter Magic Kingdom. While a Magic Kingdom reservation will make seeing the parade the easiest, you can still park hop from other parks as long as there is availability in Magic Kingdom.
This parade is also doing things a little backwards! Instead of starting in Frontierland and ending on Main Street, U.S.A., it’s starting at the front of Main Street and ending in Frontierland. This is going to help with traffic flow for guests wanting to leave after watching the parade.
Get ready to light up the night sky and welcome Disney Starlight to our nighttime spectacular family. July 20th is going to be a day in history for Disney World, and we’re ready to bring all the details straight to you.
