When it comes to dining in Disney World, we have been covering every snack and sip for over 15 years!

A new special!
One of our favorite spots to go for the best Disney food is Disney Springs, the resort’s shopping and dining district! In Disney Springs, you’ll find a bit of everything from fancy table services to easy quick services and even walk-up stands. For us, one of our tried and true spots is The Polite Pig, and we just stopped by to test out their brand-new special!
If you were to ask us about quick service favorites, there’s no question that Polite Pig would come up in conversation! This quick service offers amazing modern barbecue, tons of indoor seating, and so many amazing bourbon and cocktail options.

The Polite Pig
This spot is constantly serving up new and exciting eats like their latest Chef’s Special for $21! It’s Chicken Fried Smoked Pork Belly with black beans, corn, okra, jalapeño sausage, arugula, and shaved radish. The Chef’s Special is a rotating dish that is seasonally inspired.

The Chef’s Special!
The meat is pork belly that has been chicken fried meaning the pork belly was flattened, coated in seasoned flour or batter, and then fried similar to fried chicken. The pork belly pieces were a pretty decent size, which we appreciated! The pork belly was pretty good with nice and chewy edges and a smoky flavor.

The pork belly!
The addition of the fried crust did, unfortunately, make it pretty greasy, which was off-putting. The crust was perfectly crispy and flavorful, but the grease added to the pork belly fat wasn’t our favorite texture. The salad was nice, bright, and refreshing, which helped lighten up the meal.

Another look at the salad
The vegetables were more of a succotash, which was a different mix with the salad and pork belly. It almost felt like a pork belly stew when adding the warm succotash to the salad, making the salad wilt. We would have preferred either the salad or the vegetables.

Have a bite of the salad!
We felt it was a bit pricey for what felt like essentially a plate of pork belly. It was overall a little confusing, and we would have liked to see some different sides to it. The Polite Pig is still a definitive favorite of ours, but we will probably stick with the Cedar Plank Salmon or the Butcher Board for 2.
