When it comes to dining at Universal Orlando, there are lots of fantastic options to choose from. However, one of our absolute favorites is Finnegan’s Bar & Grill.
This restaurant is located in Universal Studios, and you’ll often find it to be pretty busy thanks to its great atmosphere, fantastic dining options, and prime location. However, this is your reminder that starting next week, this restaurant will be closing for a refurbishment.
Finnegan’s will close on January 12th, and will remain closed through Winter 2026 — yes, that means all the way at the END of this year! At this time, there’s no specific reopening date, and we also don’t know what renovations are being done. It sounds like it’s pretty intense, considering it’ll be closed for the majority of the year, but we have no way of knowing for sure just yet.
This restaurant is located in the New York section of the park and is a festive traditional Irish-American pub and a full-service restaurant. You can find iconic Irish dishes like Irish Fish & Chips, Corned Beef & Cabbage, and Dublin Lawyer, but classic burgers, salads, and more are also available for those who want some more American dishes. It’s usually got great AC on hot days, and despite how busy it is, it’s usually a great way to take a break from the park.
Other closures will be taking place in Universal Orlando this year as well. The Hogwarts Express will be closed throughout most of February, and Jurassic Park River Adventure will be closed from January 5th, 2026, through November 19th, 2026. Revenge of the Mummy will be closed for a week in January, and some Volcano Bay experiences will be closed until December 18th, 2025. Check out the full list of closures below to help plan your vacation!
