Three out of the four Disney World parks are under pretty intense construction right now, and Magic Kingdom is no exception.
We know it’s all about bringing exciting new attractions and experiences to the parks, but right now? Well, it’s just construction walls all over, and when we can’t see how progress is going behind them (which is the point, Disney doesn’t want us to see behind the walls!), it can sometimes feel a little discouraging. However, thanks to @bioreconstruct on X, we’re able to see just how much progress is being made on these new additions from the sky!
From this large aerial overview photo, we can see the exterior work being done on Haunted Mansion, the Villains Land construction, Piston Peak National Park construction, as well as the dirt being placed over to the right, where the riverboat landing originally was.
Looking closer over at Piston Peak, the foundation for the retaining wall continues to grow closer to Liberty Square. More dirt has also been placed here, again, to cover where the Liberty Square Riverboat landing originally was.
Speaking of water, the service canal that used to connect to Rivers of America is also seeing more work. It’s possible this could connect to the new water addition we’ll be seeing in Piston Peak (if the concept art is correct/truly comes to life), but we’ll have to wait and see!
A drainage pipe has also been placed for construction, which will likely serve both Piston Peak and Villains Land.
Speaking of Villains Land, we were happy to see that earth has been moved for this land, but we’re still not seeing any major construction at this time. This could partly be due to the fact that rumors have been swirling that Disney just reportedly had to go back to the drawing board for the design of the new land.
