After a long, LONG wait, the newly reimagined version of Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin opens in just one week. The new ride will feature new blasters, targets, ride vehicles, and a brand-new character. Are you ready?!

We can’t believe it! Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin will officially open next week, on April 8th. We’ve gotten the chance to check out the brand-new version of the attraction already, due to the soft opening that took place, but the OFFICIAL date is right around the corner.

If you make your way to the Magic Kingdom, they might still be running it for a soft open, but it’s not guaranteed.

The reimagined Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin features some awesome new elements and features. One of them is the brand-new ride vehicles. Not only do they have a new look, but the vehicles now have digital monitors that provide real-time scoring updates. The display will show you your score as well as your rank!

Then there are the new handheld blasters! The blasters have new lasers, new lighting, new sound effects, and now have a vibration effect. Our favorite change to the blasters, however, has to be that they can be removed from the vehicle and moved around.

Speaking of blasting, the ride has all-new interactive targets that react and light up when hit. These ones will actually show you if you’re hitting them by flashing green, making scoring that much easier.

We saved the best change for last, because the ride is bringing a brand-new character to the Magic Kingdom, and we’ve already fallen in love with him. The ride introduces us to Buddy, a robot who will train you at the beginning on how to take down the evil emperor Zurg.

Has anyone arrived on a scooter? Do they still meet you with a hand in the face telling you that you need to get into a wheel chair to get in line. I have had issues for years after they stopped letting scooter into the line. You can sometimes beg your way into the back entrance, and get on while others are getting off. I travel alone frequently and chan’t wheel myself. I am hoping for a fix for this issue. Anyone tried it yet?
