NEWS: Another Disney Springs Store Has Permanently Closed

Yes, you read that right, ANOTHER closure has hit Disney World. Disney Springs has been swamped with closures this year, like Sprinkles Cupcakes, Francesca’s, and Shore.

Now, another store has formally closed its doors, and we only got a week’s warning!

Goodbye, goodbye, goodbye Johnston & Murphy! This store is (was) located in Town Center in Disney Springs, and it’s known for premium footwear, apparel, outerwear, and accessories for both men and women. The DFB husbands are devastated by this news!

This very popular brand has been custom-designing shoes for U.S. presidents for well over a century, including Lincoln, JFK, and Obama. So yes, they’re tried and true classics! The store’s last day was Thursday, May 7th. Cast Members confirmed they are packing up all of the merchandise to move it to other Johnston & Murphy stores. If you need some of their classic finds, they still have stores at Orlando Vineland Premium Outlets and Orlando International Premium Outlets on International Drive.

The company is opening a new store in October at The Mall of Millenia, where the staff will be transferred. This store is just the next in a long line of closures for Disney World’s shopping and dining district. Shore had its last day of operation on April 30th, Francesca’s clothing store closed its doors on March 29th, and Sprinkles Cupcakes closed on January 1st.

Disney hasn’t confirmed any replacements for the closed businesses, although Black Tap Craft Burgers & Shakes has opened a limited-time pop-up in the old Sprinkles location. We also know that Gideon’s Bakehouse is opening a new restaurant, Six Ravens, later this year. We’re eager to see what new stores start to pop up over the next year or so to replace these closures.
