MASSIVE Update on Disney World's NEWEST Attraction

A lot of BIG things are happening in Disney’s Hollywood Studios. We’re talking BIG. Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring the Muppets just opened (and it’s EPIC), while a Monsters, Inc. land is being built where Muppets Courtyard used to be.

We’ve got even MORE details about this part of Hollywood Studios!

Animation Courtyard is being reimagined as The Walt Disney Studios, and part of that area is even open now (and it’s ADORABLE). Well, that’s just the tip of the iceberg for that area because Disney just dropped some NEW details about more of what’s coming to that part of the park.

The Walt Disney Studios will be home to the Magic of Disney Animation and will feature a brand new playground called Drawn to Wonderland. The playground is inspired by the original concept art of Alice in Wonderland by Mary Blair. Disney revealed that the playground will feature “the playful chaos of the Mad Tea Party and Mad Hatter’s House to the Queen of Hearts’ vibrant rose garden and the Cheshire Cat’s mysterious Tulgey Wood.” Well, now, Disney has dropped actual concept art showing what the new playground will look like.

The playground was designed with little ones in mind, but it looks like it will be fun for the whole family. We can’t wait to see it brought to life!

Disney also dropped a complete map of what the entire new Magic of Disney Animation space will look like:

We see that Drawn to Wonderland will be to the back right of the area, with the Once Upon A Studio Theater in front of that, where guests can enjoy the Emmy Award-winning short film “Once Upon A Studio” with enhanced effects. Disney also revealed that characters may pop up within the artwork along the theater walls — just like they do in the short film. There’s also an enchanted art gallery to the right of the courtyard entrance, with art that has magically come to life.

Olaf Draws is right behind the gallery, where you can visit an audio-animatronic Olaf for a drawing lesson to learn to draw a Disney character. Drawing classes will include:

Mickey Mouse, with Dan Abraham, director (Once Upon A Studio, Baymax!)
Minnie Mouse, with Hyun Min Lee, animator (Frozen 2, The Princess and the Frog)
Donald Duck, with Austin Traylor, animator (Once Upon A Studio, Moana 2)
Genie, with Eric Goldberg, animator (Aladdin, Hercules)
Moana, with Samantha Vilfort, story artist (Encanto, Zootopia 2)
Stitch, with Fawn Veerasunthorn, director and head of story (Wish, Raya and the Last Dragon)
Olaf, with Trent Correy, director (Once Upon A Studio, Frozen 3)
Ursula, with Michael Woodside, animator (Big Hero 6, Encanto)
Judy Hopps & Nick Wilde, with Byron Howard, director (Zootopia, Zootopia 2)

The largest part of The Walt Disney Studios, though, is Off The Page, an area where you can meet some of your favorite characters “while celebrating the artistry behind every frame.” Some of the characters you can meet will include Mulan in Story, Rapunzel in Layout, Chip n’ Dale in Hand-Drawn Animation, Donald and Daisy in Computer Animation, Goofy in Lighting, and Stitch in Effects.
