Okay, runners, where are you at? We know many of you come to Disney World for the official runDisney marathons and events that are held throughout the year, but did you know you can also participate in runDisney events at home?
Yes, runDisney often has virtual races that you can enter at home, and use your own city or treadmill as your race course. Well, a NEW virtual race is coming SOON, and it’s going to make Halloween fans VERY happy…yes, a Halloween-themed virtual runDisney race is happening THIS year.
So here’s what’s coming soon: the first ever runDisney Virtual Spooktacular! This is a brand new Halloween-themed virtual race that promises to be spooky and fun. The virtual race will take place from October 1st through October 31st, appropriately enough, and registration begins on August 11th.
If the teaser graphic is any indication, we expect to see medals themed to Haunted Mansion, characters in costumes, bats, and the Headless Horseman. Sounds spooktacular, alright! Now, we don’t have any further information on this race yet, but we’ll keep an eye out for more details.
In the meantime, the Disney Wine & Dine Half Marathon is coming up in Disney World on October 22nd through 25th, but if you haven’t signed up for that event yet, you’re out of luck — it’s all sold out. However, you can still sign up for the Post-Race Party!
That will be the final in-person event for 2026, but there are plenty of 2027 events to look forward to, including Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend on January 6th-10th, 2027, the Disney Princess Half Marathon Weekend on February 25th-March 1st, 2027, and the runDisney Springtime Surprise Weekend on April 8th-11th, 2027. You can check the runDisney website for more details about registration for each event.
We’ll keep you updated on other runDisney events, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
