Over the last several months, Disney has been revealing details about the upcoming Lakeshore Lodge — the brand new resort opening at Disney World next year — including details on its pool and water recreation area, lobby, and dining. Now, they’ve dropped some further… *ahem* explosive information!
Disney has confirmed that a BRAND NEW spot to watch the Magic Kingdom’s iconic nighttime fireworks spectaculars is coming to the new resort!
As part of their Letters from Lakeshore blog series, which previews various elements of the resort, Disney announced Dandelion Terrace. According to the company, the lounge will be a place where guests can gather “after the sun sets… to see Magic Kingdom Park fireworks lighting up the sky over the waters of Bay Lake”, with “soft lighting and sweeping views” setting the mood for the show.
Furthermore, the two-story lounge will also serve as a gallery of archival artwork from Disney classics like Fantasia and feature themed, whimsical dandelion light fixtures that add a touch of magic to the space.
The Dandelion Lounge will join the litany of spaces to watch the Magic Kingdom’s nighttime fireworks spectaculars like Happily Ever After at hotels near the Magic Kingdom. These include the California Grill observation deck at the Contemporary Resort, the beaches at the Grand Floridian and the Polynesian.
The lounge will likely be most directly compared to the Bamboo Terrace and Wave Break Terrace, both located at the Polynesian’s Island Tower, which opened in late 2024.
However, there will be one major difference between the Lakeshore Lodge’s new lounge and all these spaces. Namely, the new Dandelion Lounge will provide views of the fireworks over Bay Lake, whereas all of the hotels on the Monorail Loop — the aforementioned Grand Floridian, Polynesian Village, and Contemporary resorts — surround the Seven Seas Lagoon. In other words, a completely different perspective.
The Dandelion Lounge, along with the rest of the Lakeshore Lodge, which will be “inspired by the majesty of nature and its enduring influence on Disney artists,” is scheduled to open in the summer of 2027. Stay tuned to DFB for further updates on the upcoming resort!
