A MagicBand is the wearable technology for Walt Disney World Resort guests that connects — or “unlocks” — all the vacation experiences booked through My Disney Experience once guests arrive at Walt Disney World. And guests are now able to access MagicBand features on their phone with the Disney MagicMobile service!

From serving as a room key to your park “ticket” (when linked to pre-purchased valid admission) and much more, MagicBands — which are worn on the wrist — contain a Radio-Frequency Identification or RFID chip so guests can simply “tap” into many of their vacation experiences (including paying for food and merchandise by charging these purchases to the payment card on file at their Disney hotel room). Disney MagicMobile allows guests to access those same features of a MagicBand directly from their smart device!

You can enter theme parks (with your valid admission), connect PhotoPass photos, and access Virtual Queues for in-demand attractions with your pass. And you can even charge to your Disney hotel with MagicMobile, just like you would with a MagicBand!
Your MagicMobile pass can be created and managed through your My Disney Experience app. Next, you will add your MagicMobile pass to your digital wallet, which you can hold up near an access point — the same way a MagicBand functions.

Disney MagicMobile and MagicBands, by the way, are not mutually exclusive. Guests may use both interchangeably, if they like, or choose their favorite option of the two.

Guests checking into a Disney Resort hotel are still able to access the digital room key feature on the My Disney Experience app. The feature allows guests to check-in online and proceed directly to their room and use their phone to unlock their door — bypassing the front desk entirely!
Guests may still, of course, pick up a Key to the World card at the front desk, if they wish.
Setting Up Your Disney MagicMobile Pass
You’ll find MagicMobile on the app’s main menu alongside other features like Mobile Order and virtual queues. Note that you must have valid park admission or a Disney Resort hotel reservation linked to your Disney account to create a Disney MagicMobile pass. (You can learn about how to set up a Disney account here.)

Next, you’ll see the following screen. Tap “Set Up Your Pass” to get started!

You can customize your pass screen with fun Disney designs like Mickey Ear hats, your favorite park, and more!

You’ll even see some special options available in honor of the 50th Anniversary of Walt Disney World — you can see more here!
You can then link each person on your family and friends list to their own MagicMobile pass. Your personal pass will be in Express Mode, which means you can access it at touch points without even unlocking your phone. (You’ll have to manually pull up your family and friends’ passes in your digital wallet to use them.)

Upon choosing your passes, remember to add them to your digital wallet when you see the prompt to add it. You’ll need to see the “Complete” screen to verify your passes are all set up correctly.
