When you head to Disney World, planning for the unexpected is a good idea.
Between transportation hiccups and walkway closures, getting to the parks can sometimes take longer than expected. Today, when we were heading to Magic Kingdom, we noticed a bit of a setback that had some guests having to stop at guest services on the way into the park.
Disney MagicMobile is a service that allows guests to use their smart devices to access the same features of their MagicBand. This allows you to scan into the parks, connect PhotoPass photos, and access Virtual Queues for attractions. But today, MagicMobile was having some trouble that delayed guests at the Transportation and Ticket Center. We were informed that the service was temporarily down.
Our reporter noticed that Cast Members were stopping anyone who didn’t have a MagicBand or physical card and asking them to pick up a card at guest services before getting on the Monorail or ferryboat. There were crowds outside of Magic Kingdom as well, where they had all guest services windows opened to help handle the situation.
The Cast Member we spoke to didn’t know when MagicMobile services would be back up and running, so if you are heading to Disney World today and hoped to use this service, it’s a good idea to plan a little extra time to acquire an actual card.
If you’re currently planning a Disney World trip, you may want to consider using a MagicBand or obtaining physical cards for your tickets so that you have options, just in case this happens during your vacation.
We’ll keep an eye on the situation and keep you posted on any updates. Stay tuned to DFB for more Disney news!
