Eat to the beat of oom-pah band music in a romantic cobblestone plaza reminiscent of a 16th-century German town!
You’ll know you’ve arrived at Sommerfest as the smell of sauerkraut greets you. The counter service menu features traditional southern German favorites: bratwurst, GIGANTIC pretzels, and a variety of German beers and wines.
There are a few cafe tables outside of the restaurant’s service window near the Pavilion’s centerpiece — a statue of St. George slaying a dragon. Outside tables allow guests to enjoy their brats and beer in an al fresco environment. If the weather isn’t cooperative, there are also a (very) limited number of tables and chairs under the cover of the German castle’s walls.

Stop at this German spot if…
You’re looking for some traditional German eats while you’re enjoying your beer! Even if you don’t drink, the food at Sommerfest features traditional southern German favorites: bratwurst, GIGANTIC pretzels, and a variety of German beers and wines.
You want to grab a quick bite as you walk around the World Showcase. Sommerfest typically only gets long lines on REALLY busy days. Otherwise, it’s often a great option because it’s tucked away and you wouldn’t even know it was back there.
You want to people-watch while you eat. At outdoor tables, guests can enjoy their brats and beer in an al fresco environment. If the weather isn’t cooperative, there are also a (very) limited number of tables and chairs under the cover of the German castle’s walls.
Skip this eatery if…
You’re looking for a sit-down meal where you can take a break. While Sommerfest isn’t the most chaotic of quick service restaurants, we always recommend booking a table service reservation if you’re really looking to take a break during the day.
You don’t like or aren’t in the mood for traditional German eats. We love that there are so many unique options around the World Showcase, but if you’re not a fan of the German menu or are looking for more familiar fare, consider Connections Eatery or Sunshine Seasons.
You want to eat somewhere with lots of seating — both indoors and out. There’s limited outdoor seating at Sommerfest, and no indoor seating. If you’re looking for indoor, air-conditioned dining, consider Regal Eagle or Connections Eatery.
