Well, then, we’ve got one more for ya… there is a brand new nighttime spectacular coming to another kingdom at Disney World: namely, the Magic Kingdom! The “Happily Ever After” Nighttime Spectacular is set to make its debut on May 12, replacing the long-running Wishes Nighttime Spectacular! Check out this video about the new show below!

This new nighttime offering will combine Disney story-telling with fireworks, pyrotechnics, and animation all set to an original score. Projection-mapping technology (utilized in the current “Once Upon a Time” Castle Show, the Tree of Life “Awakenings” at Animal Kingdom, and “Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular” at Hollywood Studios) will feature Disney characters and moments from Moana, Aladdin, Frozen, The Princess and the Frog, The Little Mermaid, Toy Story, and more.

According to the new Happily Ever After Fireworks page on the Walt Disney World website, “This 18-minute show features more lasers, lights and projections than any other fireworks spectacular in the history of Magic Kingdom park!”

Like its predecessor, the Wishes Nighttime Spectacular, guests can continue to book the Fireworks Dessert Party at Tomorrowland Terrace for a reserved viewing area for the show along with a dessert buffet. Find out more about this option here.

Wow. I suggest you get your rest now, because there will be even more reasons to stay up late coming VERY soon with new nighttime entertainment at Walt Disney World!!

This is devastating for me. I knew it was bound to happen- Wishes has been around for most of my Disney-going life. It just happens to have a really special place in my heart. My husband proposed during Wishes, we watched it from our wedding reception at Grand Floridian, and I was SO hoping that our first child (due at the end of April) would be able to see it at least once (even if he would be too young to remember it)… it’ll be so sad to see it go, even if I know the new show will be incredible. But, such is life, I suppose. We’ll just have to make new memories.
