We’re heading back to Disney World’s Art of Animation Resort today for another fun stop at Landscape of Flavors!
In case you haven’t seen all the buzz, this upscale counter service spot opened to rave reviews with guests. Billed as the next generation of Disney food courts, its top draw is the emphasis on options, choice, and customization for guests.
Recently, I found myself in need of a little afternoon snack while I was visiting the resort, so I decided to stop in and see what was new to me on the menu.

And right there between the Meatball Sandwich and the Create-Your-Own Pasta, I saw those three magical words. Cheesy. Pesto. Bread.
Um. Yes, please.
And then I realized that it’s a Disney Dining Plan snack credit option! What a great deal! I mean, that thing is pretty much the size of two french bread pizzas…it could easily be a meal, right?
Cheesy Pesto Bread
It takes a while to make the pesto bread, since it’s not put together ahead of time and sitting under a heat lamp. I think the wait is worth it!
When I received my order, cheese hot and bubbly from under the broiler, it looked so much better than it did in the menu picture. I could really tell that this pesto was the real deal, with the beautiful warm olive oil seeping right into the open crevices in the bread.
As for taste, it was spot on. The pesto was clean and nutty, the cheese was flavorful and hot, and the bread itself was soft on the inside and crusty on the outside. Ideal.

I didn’t realize until after the fact that I don’t think I got the little cup of marinara that’s in the picture, so be sure to ask for that if you want it! It would be great for dipping! 🙂
This is officially on the list as one of my top savory snack finds, and I will so be back! Way to go, Landscape of Flavors!

I love hearing about new vegetarian options at WDW – and loving pesto and cheesy bread, this snack sounds like a great one. I’d probably pair it with a small salad for a meal, or share it with my sister (my usual Disney traveling mate) for a snack.
I think this one needs to be recreated at home too!
Stayed at Art of Animation in November for 10 days. Ate at Laandscape of Flavors for meals or snacks probably 6 times. The food ALWAYS exceeded my expectations and always looked better than the pictures. My favorite was probably the freshly made potato chips! We had a huge variety of items and they were all freshly made and very good quality and taste!
this will make for a great late night snack for 2 if we have an early dinner( which with 2 young daughters is the norm) cant wait to stay there at the end of august…

Does anyone know if there is a walkway from Pop Century to Art of Animation? I would love to visit the food court at Art of Animation. I realize I can drive there or get there by bus but it would be so much easier just to walk.
This snack alone might get my Disney-reluctant husband on the bandwagon!

Landscape of Flavors is just awesome! Haven’t tried this yet but I’ve had several of their other vegetarian options (there are many!). Wish all the Disney food courts were this great, it’s wonderful!
We ate at Landscape of Flavors while there in October 2012, it was great, all fresh and healthy options as well. We ordered an Indian-inspired dish served with Naan bread and it was DELISH!!!!!!! Will definitely have to try this bread next time!

Heidi — Canadians answered, but I’ll throw in my 2 cents, too! I really enjoyed walking the bridge between the resorts, and often made it my exercise for the day to walk the circut around Hourglass Lake (which connects the resorts) a couple of times. Very peaceful.
Jaia — It was truly incredible. I was shocked by the price when I realized the size and quality of the portion.

bread and cheese! two of my favorite things! We always stay at a DVC but will be making trips to this food court next trip just to check it out and have lunch.
We ate at Landscape of Flavors several times during our stay in December. Everything was tasty and the different options were great to have. My favorite was the make your own salad and the surf and surf burger. Both were yummy!
I wonder if you could ask for Cheesy Marinara Bread instead? Made with marinara sauce in place of the pesto. I’m just not a fan of pesto but would love a french bread pizza.
Oh, definitely…yes, please! This would go great with the non-alcoholic sangria at the MK. Okay, I’m hungry now!
To answer a question posted above: All you need to do to get from Pop Century to Art of Animation is walk across the Generation Gap Bridge. The Bridge is just about right behind the ’60s buildings where the water is, and is a very quick walk. Actually, from any spot on the Pop Century grounds you are within a 3-5 minute walk of the bridge. And once you cross the bridge, you’re pretty much walking straight towards the food court in the Art of Animation building.
Do you know if they are happy to tweak meals for people w medical dietary restrictions?My son is on a low carb, high fat diet for seizures. I would like to know if the omelet station is real eggs and can you request them to be made with cream instead of milk. We usu stay at the Poly and get room service for breakfast and they always do this special. My kids really want to stay at Art of Animation, but I am very nervous about the food. Also did u see any sugar free desserts?
Amy — They’re better at tweaking meals at the table service restaurants, but they should be able to help you out at Art of Animation since so much of the food is made to order. I’m not sure about the omelet station. You should absolutely call the Disney special diets line and get connected to the right folks to answer your questions authoritatively. They can definitely help, and may be able to make sure Art of Animation is stocked with the things they need for when you visit. wow. I have to say that your photo of the actual food, in reverse of what we normally see in the world and the World, looks WAY better than the photo on the menu.
What we can see of the menu photo just looks like plain garlic bread or very stingy cheese bread. The photo(s) you took of the actual item show that this is a wholesome and probably quite filling meal.
