UPDATE: Please note that Dole Whip is no longer being served at Sunshine Tree Terrace, and that Sunshine Tree Terrace and Aloha Isle (the original Dole Whip home) have switched locations.
With the addition of Dole Whip to Epcot during the Flower and Garden Festival and Epcot Food and Wine Festival, and at Animal Kingdom’s Tamu Tamu Refreshments since last May, we’ve become somewhat accustomed to spotting this Magic Kingdom signature snack in other Disney World parks.
But Aloha Isle — the original home to Dole Whip at Disney World — is no longer your sole source of Pineapple soft-serve at Magic Kingdom (at least for the time being, we should say 😉 ).
Dole Whip has arrived at Sunshine Tree Terrace!
The first appearance of Pineapple soft-serve on the Sunshine Tree menu came along with the rush of Christmas week crowds, so at the time it was unclear if it was a temporary attempt to help alleviate some of the loooooong lines at Aloha Isle for the weeks immediately surrounding the holidays.
But since the lines are loooooong at Aloha Isle any time of year (understandably, because Dole Whip ), it’s good to know that a recent visit to Sunshine Tree Terrace revealed that Dole Whip remains on the menu!
Sunshine Tree Terrace is serving up Pineapple and Vanilla soft-serve in cups, cones, or Floats. It does not appear that you can
swirl your choice of flavor with the Orange Slush that is part of Sunshine Tree Terrace’s own signature snack, the Citrus Swirl. So, for a Pineapple-and-Orange combo (my personal favorite), you’ll want to stick with Aloha Isle.
So whether it’s a Citrus Swirl or Dole Whip you crave, you can stop by Sunshine Tree Terrace — for now. Because someone special…
… will be happy to see you!
Remember, Dole Whip at Sunshine Tree Terrace is subject to change. 🙂

GREAT IDEA…..now while I wait in line I do not have to take in the 2nd hand smoke from the smoking section right there.
About time Disney did something about that!
Wondering if maybe since they are putting in a new restaurant in the former Tinker Bell meet and greet area. That the will be closing down Aloha Isle, either temporarily or permanently and since they can’t stop serving Dole Whips, as I believe there would be a riot, Disney will have Sunshine Tree be the place for Dole Whips.
I’m for anything that gets my Dole Whip to me faster!
I 2nd the “yeah for no second hand smoke” from Mike – that area is the single area of DW that I would say is actually kind of gross…
Aren’t Dole Whips on the menu in EPCOT’s World Showcase?
patricia, Dole Whips aren’t at EPCOT year round. The pineapple soft serve shows up just during events like Flower & Garden and Food & Wine.
Hey unfair!! Why can you get Dole whips at STT, EPCOT Food & Wine Fest. and Poly?
I want justice for the Citrus Swirl. How about at Old Key West (FL and citrus just goes together) MORE CITRUS SWIRLS !!!!!
OH and the Dole Whips are at AK.
Any idea why they’re not calling them Dole Whips? The sign says “pineapple soft serve.” Is this a licensing issue? Just curious.
Katie — For some reason they call them Pineapple Soft Serve all over the place. Maybe because “Dole Whip” is kind of confusing to folks who don’t already know what it is? Dole Whip is the brand name, but it isn’t very self-explanatory. Kind of like if you’d never heard of “Kleenex” you would have no idea it was facial tissue if you just saw the name. We’ve been assured by the Dole company that all “pineapple soft serve” offered in Disney World is, indeed, Dole Whip. 😀
I read a report from a guest yesterday claiming that the recipe for Dole Whips has been changed from the traditional milk based ice cream to a frozen based recipe. He noted that the color and flavor were off and the taste resembled more of an orange flavor rather than pineaple. He claims to have confirmed the recipe change with the manager and also confirmed that he had purchased it from the new Aloha Isle location at the Magic Kingdom that used to be Sunshine Terrace. Can anyone else confirm or deny this change?
