Did someone say cupcakes?!?!
As I’m sure you know, Disneyland has a rather big birthday coming up. The resort will celebrate its 60th Anniversary in July. But you don’t have to wait until the middle of Summer to have your cake and eat it too!
On May 22, Disneyland and Disney California Adventure will debut some fun (and delish) treats to mark Disneyland’s Diamond Anniversary Celebration.
While cupcakes are usually more of an East Coast Disney thing than a West Coast one, when Disneyland does ’em, they’re incredible. Beginning May 22, find a Lemon-flavorored Cupcake at Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe. Why lemon? It’s the perfect flavor to celebrate the Victorian theme of Main Street USA.
Similar Cupcakes will be available at Fiddler, Fifer & Practical Cafe in Disney California Adventure — but the flavor will be Orange there to represent the 1930s vibe of Buena Vista Street.
In addition to the cupcakes, Disneyland will release lots of new, limited-time beverages. I gotta say — I’m a little perplexed why they’d offer five different drinks that look and sound incredibly similar. 😉
But I’ll reserve judgement until I get to try a few! I think I’m mostly looking forward to the Frozen Pomegranate Silver Sparkler from Jolly Holiday Bakery Cafe.
And of course, there will be plenty of merch to commemmorate the event. After all, it’s not everyday you turn 60. And the Balloon Popcorn Bucket is sure to sell out fast.
Look for LOTS more details as we inch closer to the the celebration — set to kick off on May 22 with an all-night celebration at Disneyland and Disney California Adventure!

I’m looking forward to the cupcake and the lemonade. Ooh, and the purple popcorn bucket. Do you know if this if for limited time, or will it still be available in October?

I just hope they keep the celebration going until I get there this fall!
Dana says
Same question as Evelynn. I’ll be at Disneyland in September, and I guess it didn’t occur to me that they’d run out of the popcorn buckets. Do you think they’ll run out of those right away?
Jenn says
I don’t like frosting so I’m not into the cupcakes, but I need to try all those drinks.

I wish they had some new drinks that weren’t red… I am allergic to red40 and it gives me horrible migraines. On another thought I miss the pork shank!!! Please add some savory foods to the park!

The 60th anniversary cupcake was awful. They decided to throw everything at this cupcake- lemon pound cake with tiny balls of who knows what, strawberry filling with a hard plug of cream cheese, and a strange tasting butter cream icing. The only good part was the white chocolate D on top.
