Hold your horses, cowpokes!
Because we’ve got a tasty new combo to show you courtesy of Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe.
Here’s the deal: you may already know (and love!) the Corn Dog Nuggets made famous in the Magic Kingdom thanks to Casey’s Corner. And now that PLASTIC CHEESE has returned to the beloved hot dog haven, you can dip those Nuggets right on into what I consider the World’s Best Condiment.
Plastic Cheese used to be available at Pecos Bill’s, too, when it was the Magic Kingdom’s most popular burger joint. But a few years ago this Counter Service spot switched to Mexican and Southwest-style fare, and the Pecos Bill’s Fixin’s Bar followed suit. (Plus Plastic Cheese had likewise been removed from Counter Service restaurants all over Disney World, anyhoo.)
But things are looking up with regard to CHEESE at Pecos Bill’s, because Queso Blanco has hit the scene! And we couldn’t help but immediately pair it up with a certain item on the Kids’ Menu, so we can now proudly present to you: Corn Dog Nuggets and Queso Blanco!
I’m a huge fan of queso blanco, and when it originally showed up on the menu at Pecos Bill’s, I was excited to try it. Unfortunately, it was lackluster, to say the least. Prepackaged. Lukewarm. Just… blah.
But the Queso Fairies seem to have heard my cry because the Queso Blanco at Pecos Bill’s has received a MAJOR upgrade. It now comes in a cup and is dispensed to order. So, although it’s not necessarily freshly made, it’s definitely tastier! (And there’s MORE of it, which — when it comes to cheese — is pretty important.)
The typical Disney diner would grab a bowl of chips and dig in, right? And you CAN do that — there are chips available as a side. But we here at the DFB are always looking for fun new food mash-ups, and, well, why not? Here are some Mini Corn Dogs, which is what they’re called on the Kids’ Menu, but they’re totally Corn Dog Nuggets.
Even though they’re part of the Mini Corn Dogs meal, you can request to get them as an entree on their own. So. Do That.
These teeny, tasty, salty, golden-fried Nuggets go really well dipped in that unique jalapeno-and-chili-touched savory white cheese. As it turns out, corn dog + queso blanco = awesome.
So dig in now, and thank me later! So long from Pecos Bill’s!

I’m not a fan of corn dogs, but I AM a huge fan of queso!!
There is nothing better than a simple “chips and cheese”, in my opinion. Next time I go, I’ll definitely have to try this!
Glad to see they’ve gotten away from pre-packaged queso…it just looks so cheap and – dare I make the pun – cheesy! Definitely not Disney World level food.

Do you think these are the same ones served at casey’s?
Carolyn says
How much does a cup of queso cost? Or is it included in the price of an entree?
