Depending on where you are in the country, school has been back in session for at least a week. Pumpkin Spiced beverages are up for grabs everywhere, and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is ON.
Which means it’s time to say…. Happy Fall, Y’all! And when it comes to autumn in Disney World, there’s so much to see and do… and EAT!
One such sweet treat is this super fun Pumpkin Cupcake at sweet spots all over Disney World. We’ve enjoyed plenty of pumpkin-flavored Disney desserts over the years, but this… isn’t one of them. It’s pumpkin in appearance only — which is great for those of you who want to celebrate the season, but haven’t hopped on the Pumpkin Spice Bandwagon!
But it’s still really delicious. I mean, how cute is this? The “pumpkin” is a big ol’ stylistically done pile of vanilla buttercream! A pop of green conjures pumpkin vines, and dark chocolate rounds turn this pumpkin into our favorite Mouse!
Even the cake is vanilla, so it’s palate-friendly for even the pickiest dessert eater. No magical pumpkin filling or anything inside, either — it’s all cake. Sure, it might be a little plain for those of us who love fillings (like this Cherry Pie filling I found at Contempo Cafe!), but it is a crowd pleaser.
And it really is cute as a button, if a little underwhelming compared to some of the other autumnal offerings. And I MIGHT still recommend the Halloween-inspired Cinnamon Roll available at Main Street Bakery over this one in a pinch (but only because of the chocolate spider web). But for classic vanilla cake fans, this is a fun option.
You can snag one of these Instagram-worthy treats at Main Street Confectionery, Goofy’s Candy Company, Big Top Treats, and likely even more spots! So keep your eyes PEELED for PUMPKIN!

Needs more frosting! 😀
Sure, it’s cute, but a pumpkin cupcake ought to contain pumpkin. This is a vanilla cupcake with vanilla frosting and a bit of dark chocolate. No thanks.
Looks good to me! My family loves plain vanilla cakes and not too much icing. I have actually tossed a few things half eaten at WDW because they made my teeth stick together. This looks both cute and just right for us!
I mean, it certainly fills a spot for a particular demographic; there are people out there who don’t like a lot of flavor or sweet but in that case it seems a bit silly to go for a cupcake if you’re not looking for a little cake with a lot of frosting. Vanilla on vanilla is good for kids, but it’s still a little disappointing.
I’d probably enjoy any of the cupcakes, and does anyone know if they still have vanilla soft serve with candy corn in the ice cream?
Should be named something else. DL has an AMAZING Pumpkin cupcake. This is a let down WDW…..
