Between decorating the park, kicking off Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and introducing a bunch of treats and sweets the Magic Kingdom found a way to do even more updates! We collected all the menu updates, merchandise introductions, refurbishment projects progress, and even more holiday eats right here for you!
That’s a view that we could look at all day! Cinderella Castle, Fireworks, and Characters! Even Mickey is there — before his big day this weekend when he turns 90!
What’s New on Magic Kingdom’s Main Street, U.S.A.
We’ve been missing the Main Street, U.S.A. Popcorn Cart for several weeks now. We saw a random popcorn cart here one day, but it was only there for a day. “Oh, popcorn cart, when will you return to bring us our buttery, salty snack in an awesome bucket?” We’ll keep you posted!
With Mickey’s Big Day coming up maybe they should re-name the specialty shake at the Plaza Restaurant the Birthday Shake instead of its proper name — the Un-Birthday Shake. This shake has been at the Plaza for a couple of months now — and it’s refillable!
Speaking of cool treats there’s Peppermint Ice Cream at the Plaza‘s neighbor, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor. Plus, any sweet treat is even sweeter when it has Mickey ears on it!
Casey’s Corner is gearing up for their 12 Days of Christmas Dogs program coming in December, but don’t fret — they still came out with what we think is a pretty awesome Hot Diggity Dog of the Month….a Poutine-Topped Hot Dog! You can also get a loaded fries version of this, so basically, Poutine!
The Confectionery has some adorable looking cake pops, caramel apples, cookies, krispie treats, and more for the season. Be sure to stop by and check these cuties out!
If you’re going to a Christmas party this season and need the perfect dress, Uptown Jewelers is the place to stop. There you’ll find this perfectly dressy, a little vintage-y, Christmas dress complete with Disney themed ornaments on it! You’ll also find this in the Cherry Tree Lane shop in Disney Springs’ Marketplace Co-op. We also spotted the dress on ShopDisney.com.
While we were in Uptown Jewelers we spotted the Kate Spade Disney Quote bags that were introduced in Disney Springs. We even spotted them on ShopDisney.com
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Adventureland
Back in August, we were delighted to get our Citrus Swirl in an orange colored cone. At the time we were told it was for the Halloween season only. However, on this visit we saw the orange cones are still available and asked about them. The cast member we spoke with did not think they were going away — so go ahead and enjoy your citrus swirl in an orange cone, as long as you can!
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Frontierland
Peco’s Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe
jumped in on the “of-the-month” food specialty items this fall. This month’s Taco Trio of-the-Month is a Mojo Pork Taco with pickled onions, cilantro cream, and queso blanco.
Tom Sawyer Island has been closed for refurbishment, and is still closed currently. It is expected to re-open in late-December.
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Liberty Square
Just in time for Christmas, the refurbishment of Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe is complete!
Plus, you can stop in here for your kiddo (or you!) to write and “mail” a letter to Santa!
The Riverboat is still closed for refurbishment. The last time we asked about a re-opening timeline we were told November or December.
One of our favorite shops in Magic Kingdom is Memento Mori with its Haunted Mansion merchandise. This visit did not disappoint. We spotted some fun new clutches, especially the Hitchhiking Ghosts clutch. It has a lenticular print on it that changes between two images, check it out!
We also spotted a Madame Leota clutch. We’ve seen these in Disney Springs as well. We’re loving the nod to Madame Leota’s room on the ride with the Harp as the zipper pull! Find all of these in Disneyland, too!
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland
Finally, the tarps are down that were covering up Prince Charming’s Carousel! You now have a clean view of the Carousel and around Fantasyland.
We were disappointed to see Pinocchio Village Haus does not have a Flatbread of the Month this month, but we spotted some changes to their menu while we were there.
- Cheese or Deluxe Strombolis have been added to their dinner menu.
- New flatbreads are on the menu including Meat Lovers, Gourmet Cheese, and Margherita. To make room for these new flatbreads the Sausage and Pepperoni and Caprese flatbreads have been removed from the menu.
- A Turkey Sandwich, Gourmet Cheese flatbread, and Pasta with a choice of Marinara or Butter are new options on the Kids Menu. Macaroni and Cheese, and the Cheese, and Sausage and Pepperoni flatbreads have been removed from the Kids Menu.
If your kiddo is looking for Mac and Cheese you may want to consider Friar’s Nook, who just brought back their Mac and Cheese (with a Tater Tot twist).
The next time you visit Gaston you’ll find a new merchandise cart near the Meet and Greet area. In addition to some fun Beauty and the Beast merchandise there’s also a target game kiddos can play while you’re in line waiting to meet the Best Looking Man Alive (in his own mind) — Gaston.
Just in time for Thanksgiving feasting, Prince Eric’s Village Market has brought back the Turkey Leg! You can also grab a jumbo pretzel with cheese sauce (plastic cheese!) here. That means the Sweet Thai Chili Shrimp has been removed from the menu, but the Witch’s Brew is still available here. Plus, we saw some people with the Witch’s Brew and it had a rock candy covered straw — the same one that we got when we tried the Wonderland Slush last week!
In Big Top Treats and the Confectionery they are offering a very Christmasy Red and Green slush! This is basically the Merry Berry slush that’s at Cosmic Ray’s for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. We don’t know how long this will be on the menu, but imagine through the holidays!
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Tomorrowand
We tried Cosmic’s Ray’s secret menu item — Galaxy Loaded Fries — available only on mobile order in September, well now it is not quite as secret as it used to be. It is still kind of a secret. Let us explain. Now there is a picture of the Galaxy Loaded Fries on the menu screens — but the menus never reference or list the fries! It is still a mobile order only item, it’s just kind of being advertised now. We’ll see if this not-quite secret trend continues.
We were able to try the Christmas Cookie Sundae at Auntie Gravity’s. This is just one of the many items available during Christmas, but it was not available last week when we were at the Christmas Party. It’s a “christmas cookie” ice cream — which kind of tastes like cake batter — topped with chocolate sauce and sprinkles.
What’s New in Magic Kingdom’s Stores! New Merchandise!
How about these new ears? Are they Mardi Gras, or Princess Tiana, or both?
We can’t decide. We know we love the beading and those magnificent feathers!
If you love all the Disney Princesses equally there’s a new set of Minnie Mouse Ears for you.
Look closely, there’s little details like Cinderella’s shoe, and fun sayings like “Live Your Dreams” on these. Plus there’s a crown!
Mickey’s Star Traders in Tomorrowland is becoming the spot in the park for “trendy” items — including ALL four of the attractions spirit jerseys!
We also spotted those Snack Purses we found in Disney Springs at Mickey’s Star Traders.
There are also fun Alice in Wonderland themed purses here.
We are in love with this Rose Gold Peter Pan shirt — check out the arm. It’s a bedazzled London -> Never Land message! You’ll also find this in Mickey’s Star Traders.
If you love Rose Gold and Mickey Mouse you absolutely NEED these new Minnie Mouse Mitts!
Plus, there’s a rose gold shirt to go with your Minnie Mouse Mitts! 😀
If you are a dog-lover, here’s a shirt for you. Life sure is “ruff” sometimes.
This is so true for us.
There’s a new flavor of pre-packaged popcorn — caramel apple! You should see this popping up in all the stores on property that sell Main Street Popcorn.
Goofy’s Candy Co. is continuing their new, updated look and re-branded bagged candy around the parks and resorts.
That’s everything we found this week. Be sure to watch DisneyFoodBlog.com and follow us as we celebrate Mickey’s 90th birthday in Magic Kingdom this weekend!
