is one of our favorite quick service dining spots in Epcot. Located in Future World’s Land pavilion, Sunshine Seasons is known for serving up some fresh options that come right out of Living with the Land’s greenhouses, and we’ve found some great vegetarian and vegan options here over the years.
And now there’s a little sweet love for those who eat a plant-based diet: a Vegan Cupcake! This cupcake is irresistible upon sight with its dripping dark chocolate and bright cherry.
So you know we had to try it right away. We’re happy to say that that giant mound of frosting on top is delicious — barely distinguishable from regular frosting! And the chocolate is thick, super-sweet fudge!
The cake was very moist and flavorful. And inside? That’s pineapple and coconut! Yum! The combo of sweet vanilla frosting, dark chocolate, and pineapple really works.
Y’all, whether you’re vegan or not, this is just an awesome cupcake! But for those of you living that plant-based life, you’re in for a tremendous treat! And if you want to see why we love Sunshine Seasons for vegan and vegetarian diners, check out the DFB Guide video of our favorite veggie-friendly restaurants!

Thanks so much for making sure we knew about this new vegan option! We’re starting another annual pass in May to cover the end of Illuminations, so I’m sure we’ll be enjoying this treat several times.
I was a big skeptical about the pineapple filling in reading, but glad you thought it was a win.
Thanks for covering vegan options in the parks. Always glad to see you guys include the vegan options available as it makes planning our trips much easier.
We had this in December and loved it, especially the pineapple filling! It was so nice having a vegan option for dessert!!
We loved it! We never would have known about it if it wasn’t for your blog. I’m currently transitioning to a vegan diet and BF and I were excited to try it and happily surprised at how good it was! And the presentation was super fun! Thanks for the heads up! 🙂 Keep those vegan reviews coming!
Thank you so much for featuring a vegan item!! It is so much appreciated by a lot of people. It’s good to get the information of a vegan offering out there!
Great vegan food/sweets review! Thank you and cannot wait to see more vegan food coverage and reviews from DFB!
I tried this – it was THE WORST – honestly like maybe they forgot an ingredient or something – the cake literally tasted like some kind of burnt crust? It was so weird.
Jess, oh, no! Hopefully just a bad batch!
