One of our favorite spots, Beaches and Cream Soda Shop at Disney’s Beach Club Resort, will be closing in August for a three month refurbishment.

The super popular restaurant is primarily known for ice cream (especially the Famous Kitchen Sink and even boozy shakes for adults), but it’s also a great place to grab a burger, grilled cheese, and other diner favorites.

Disney World Guest Services has confirmed that Beaches & Cream is slated for a reopening sometime in December. And guests looking for ice cream will want to know that there will be a satellite ice cream location set up at the Yacht & Beach Club (though it is not anticipated that the Kitchen Sink will be one of the options).

We’ll sure miss you, Beaches & Cream… but we can’t wait to visit again later this year!

Do you know exactly when in August? I’ll be staying there 8/13-18 and was soooo looking forward
Darn! We’ll be at Boardwalk in Dec so I’m hoping it’ll reopen in EARLY Dec, but with my luck…. prolly not. We’ll have to visit Ample Hills instead which isn’t a bad thing.
We arrive 8/14 and were planning on eating here. August is a terrible time to start a refurb at an ice cream place! Bad decision, Disney!

We check in to the Beach club in just over 3 weeks and bringing the grandchildren that we’ve challenged to a kitchen sink.
In 9 day span we have three separate reservations ❤️

I hope the refurbishment doesn’t change Beaches and Cream’s classic charm and colors. Extra seating somehow would be nice. But it seems that all of Disney’s refrurbs lately go for a more stark white look.
So sad now! I was planning on going for the first time during my November trip. :’’(
Read the email and panicked. We are going for our first trip with out 5 year old and the milkshakes are on our list of must tries.

Love that place but I am hoping for some larger booths and tables.
I wonder if they’re enlarging it? We ate there at Christmas, while we were waiting for our reservation we passed the time in the arcade next door. We found ourselves speculating on how much the (empty aside from us) arcade made in comparison with Beaches and Cream, and how relatively easy it would be to close the arcade, knock through and more than double the size of Beaches and Cream.
So sad to hear. After listening to all the information we had decided Beaches and Cream was a must! We are staying at the Beach Club in September 🙁
I was about to cry! We are doing a 10 day trip in july and will finally have time to try the kitchen sink. Then I noticed it said August so I’m good lol

We are DVC members at Boardwalk and always stop for burgers and ice cream at Beaches. Here’s hoping they knock down the wall and enlarge. No-one is ever in the arcade next door…?
This would have been number 1 on my bucket list for my first visit in november. So sad now, knowing i will never get a kitchen sink.
Anja, that’s disappointing! The Plaza Ice Cream Parlor in Magic Kingdom has Mickey’s Kitchen Sink, which is much smaller but offers some fun combinations. You can choose one sauce and two types of ice cream — plus you get to keep the bowl! Linking here so you can check it out. I’m staying at Beach Club in September and was looking forward to visiting it. Ah well, there are loads of other places to eat/drink at 🙂
Boooooo we are staying there at the end of August…. we were looking forward to ice cream in the hot humid weather.
Gabriella, there will likely be a pop up option at the resort. We’ll update when we see it go up!

Katie, currently the last date showing for ADRs is August 5, so we would expect it’ll be after that date. Of course, no guarantee, so you’ll want to watch and see if it changes!
Does anyone have any news on what Beaches and Cream will look like after the refurbishment? Or where to find said news if it ever came out?

BT, no word yet on what the refurbishment with change or maintain at Beaches & Cream, but we’ll stay on top of any info that comes out!
What are the chances it reopens Nov 16-23?
Tom, really no way to know at this point, but we’re eager to find out and will update when we hear!
