A runDisney race is an exciting opportunity for families and friends alike to experience the Walt Disney World Resort in a new way.
In case you didn’t know, there are a number of runDisney events held throughout the year, such as the Disney Princess Half Marathon and the Wine & Dine Half Marathon! Each one has a different theme and allows for different race opportunities. And now, Star Wars fans, the time has come to register for the runDisney 2020 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend in Disney World!
The Star Wars Rival Run Weekend, which is presented by OtterBox, will give runners the opportunity to meet some of their favorite characters. And, like most other runDisney races, participants may also receive a themed medal when finishing their race.
Star Wars Rival Run events will include a 5K, 10K, half marathon and other races, which you can view here. Each race will vary in terms of availability and price!
During the weekend, you’ll find a runDisney Expo which will give runners the opportunity to pick up their race bib, shirt, and gEAR bag. There will also be uniquely themed food, beverages, and merch. On top of all of this, runners will also have the opportunity to check out the Interactive Zone which will feature yoga and other fun areas throughout the weekend!
The 2020 Star Wars Rival Run Weekend will take place April 16-19. Spots fill up fast, so if you’re interested, be sure to check out the runDisney website for more information on booking.
For those who plan on participating, Disney has also announced a few limited edition MagicBands which will be available for participants. You can read all about the runDisney MagicBands here!

Lisa McGowen says
Do they have any events for walking?
DFB Sarah says
Lisa, participants can walk any of the events for runDisney, provided that they remain ahead of the pace. (For example, I believe the pace for half-marathons is a 16:00 mile.) The 5Ks typically include lots of families (even kids 5+), so walking is common, and the pacing is usually not an issue in the 5K.
