Walt Disney World has long been known as the Most Magical Place on Earth, but during the winter holiday season, Disney World — and Magic Kingdom especially — really turns on the Christmas charm. And the highlight of the season is Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party.
This year the party is shaping up to be as festive and exciting as ever, and we’ve got everything you need to make the most of this jolly holiday party RIGHT HERE! Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is a special ticketed event (that means you need to buy a separate Party ticket and can’t use a regular Park ticket for entry) for Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is held on select dates in November and December and includes special entertainment, rare character meets, and (of course!) lots of party-specific treats!
So without further ado, here is your Ultimate 2019 Guide to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Dates and Times
2019 Dates and Prices
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party will be held on the following dates in 2019:
-
- November 8, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17, 19, 21, 22, 24

Ticket prices vary depending on which night you attend, and they range from $99 to $139 for adults and $95 to $135 for kids ages 3-9. If you decide to attend a Party on the day of, the cost is $10 more at the gate and subject to availability. Tickets can be purchased by calling (407) 939-1872 or visiting Disney’s website.
DFB TIP: Some guests, like Annual Passholders and Disney Vacation Club members, may qualify for discounts. When you call for tickets, ask to see if you qualify as a member of one of those groups!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party hours:
The Party starts at 7PM and goes until midnight, but typically guests can enter the Park at 4PM.
Party-Exclusive Events
Once Upon a Christmastime Parade
The Once Upon a Christmastime Parade is a festive, character-filled parade that travels through Magic Kingdom at 8:30PM and at 11PM each night of the Party. DFB TIP: Typically the second parade is much less crowded than the first, so plan to use the duration of the first parade to do other Party things like meeting rare characters or riding attractions.
The Once Upon a Christmastime parade has a great mix of Disney characters, stunning floats, Christmas favorites like marching toy soldiers, and — of course! — Santa!
The parade follows a route right down the middle of Main Street, U.S.A.! You can certainly enjoy this parade from any spot on the route but for the most magical experience, be sure to grab a spot right on Main Street!
Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration
Party-goers can catch Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show at three different times each night: 7:40, 9:25, 10:30, and midnight. The Celebration, which takes place on Cinderella Castle stage, is packed with nostalgic Christmas tunes and popular characters in their holiday attire!
You’ll watch Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, and friends celebrate the season — Disney style!
A Frozen Holiday Wish
If you’ve ever wondered how all those twinkling, icy lights appear on Cinderella Castle for the holiday season, wonder no more! A Frozen Holiday Wish reveals that Queen Elsa — who appears on stage with Princess Anna and Olaf — uses her powers to light up the Castle each night at 8:15PM.
Cinderella Castle in all her glory is a sight to behold, especially covered in icy cool lights!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Character Meet-and-Greets
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is one of only a couple opportunities at Walt Disney World to meet rare characters like Jack Skellington (in his suit as Sandy Claws), the Seven Dwarfs, and Santa!
DFB TIP: If you’ve got your heart set on meeting specific characters during the party, note that party guests start lining up at character spots even before the party begins. In fact, if you want to meet Jack Skellington or the Dwarfs without wasting precious party time, you’ll want to line up well before the characters are even set to emerge (1-2 hours before the party starts is not unheard of).
You’ll also want to know that characters take a break every twenty minutes or so (probably for hot cocoa and cookie breaks!). If you see them disappear while you’re in line waiting, don’t fret: they’ll be back — and you’ll want to keep your spot to meet them!
One of the best parts of the Party is that there are SO MANY other characters around the park you can have the opportunity to meet as well — just check the Party guide map to see where your favs are meeting!
New in 2019! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks
This year, a brand new fireworks spectacular will debut for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks will incorporate beloved holiday music and “evoke heartfelt moments of home and family.” DFB TIP: The best place to watch is right on Main Street, U.S.A., so you’ll want to prepare to be dazzled by the 10PM show!
New in 2019! Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party
If you’ve enjoyed a fireworks dessert party at Magic Kingdom in the past, you might consider adding one to your Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party night, too! With the advent of Minnie’s new fireworks spectacular, this year’s dessert add-on is newly called Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Dessert Party! (Last year’s dessert party was called the Holiday Fireworks Dessert Party, so we’re glad Minnie’s getting her due this year!) The cost of the Dessert Party is $84 for adults and $50 for kids with viewing from Tomorrowland Terrace and $69 for adults and $41 for children with Plaza Garden Viewing. (These prices are in addition to a ticket to the Party itself.)
This IS quite pricey on top of your already pricey Party ticket, but it can be a wonderful addition. If you want a chance to spread out, relax, and enjoy prime firework viewing with some tasty drinks and eats, this may be perfect for your family.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Music and Dance Parties
In addition to all the fun on Main Street and around Cinderella Castle, guests of the Party can also enjoy entertainment throughout the night all over the Park, including the Totally Tomorrowland Christmas Show (catch it at 7:40, 8:30, 9:20, 10:45, and 11:45!) and VoicePlay (not yet announced for 2019 but nightly at 8:05, 8:55, 10:15, and 11:10 if it returns) on the Rocket Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland and Club Tinsel, an energetic dance party held at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe!
Main Street, U.S.A., Snow Fall
If you were afraid that celebrating the Christmas season in central Florida would mean missing out on seeing some magical snowfall, don’t fret! Every night of the Party, snow will fall on Main Street, U.S.A., delighting guests of all ages!
Make time to enjoy the magically calibrated precipitation. DFB TIP: Those flakes on your tongue aren’t icy flakes; they’re soap — so think twice before trying to taste some!!!
NEW in 2019! Attraction Overlays and Offerings
Disney has announced that new for the 2019 parties, some rides and attractions in Magic Kingdom will receive a holiday overlay! Expect to find festive lights and holiday decor on the Tomorrowland Speedway, holiday tunes and lights on Space Mountain, and Christmas party fun on Mad Tea Party! And over at Monsters, Inc., Laugh Floor, guests will be delighted by a new holiday show!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party Eats
Of course, party guests will need to FUEL their fun, and it’s easy to do with FREE party eats like cookies, sno-cones, and pretzels, as well as SPECIALTY party treats like yule logs, a Holiday Burger, and Red Velvet Zero Waffles with Ice Cream! (And if you can’t attend the party, there are some holiday eats available all day, including a festive Mickey Cinnamon Bun at Main Street Bakery and (in 2018) an Ugly Sweater Brownie at Casey’s Corner!
For the complimentary eats included with your admission, inflatable peppermint sticks and nutcrackers will light your way to free goodies all over the park.
So even if you don’t want to spend extra cash on Party-specific specialty eats, you certainly won’t go hungry.
The soft pretzel snowman was one of our fav free goodies last year!
We’ve seen a variety of free cookies as well as hot and cold drink offerings like cider, cocoa, and even sno-cones offered during the parties for free!
Returning in 2019! Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party
In 2018, Tony’s Town Square Restaurant hosted its first Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party during Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and this added-cost dining event is back in 2019! The cost for this event is $99 per guest 3 and older and includes savory hors d’œuvres and small desserts, plus beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages.
Guests who opt into Tony’s shindig can come and go throughout the night, as well as enjoy a reserved viewing area for the 11PM Once Upon a Christmastime Parade! Additionally, Tony’s Most Merriest Town Square Party goes until 12:30AM, technically thirty minutes past the conclusion of Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests of Tony’s can, therefore, get an extra half-hour to eat, drink, and relax. This extra-ticketed dining experience can be booked by calling (407) 939-3463 or by visiting Disney World’s website.
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party-Specific Merchandise
Guests at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party have access to branded merchandise that’s only available during the Party. Merchandise usually includes Limited Edition items like pins, Party-specific Tee Shirts, collectible MagicBands, and Passholder-exclusive items (be sure to show your Passholder ID)!
You’ll find the bulk of the merchandise at the Emporium, Big Top Souvenirs, Mickey’s Star Traders, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe, Fantasy Faire, and Frontier Trading Post during the party to purchase unique party gear! You’re also likely to find merchandise carts throughout the Park, so you’re never too far from your next favorite souvenir! But note: items are available only while supplies last, so don’t wait if you spot something you have to have!

Lola says
It’s hors d’œuvres 🙂
Laura says
I always do the fireworks desert party whenever I am at Disney. Next year (2020) we will be there from November 14 to November 19. I am not interested in paying for the Christmas party AND the desert party for a family of 6 on one night. Will there be limited nights at that time for the desert party when there is no Christmas party going on?
DFB Sarah says
Laura, we would expect the dessert party to be available on nights when there’s no party, too. You’ll have to wait and see, but it’s not unreasonable to think they’d do that.
Bob Werner says
I’ve got my ticket to the first, already sold out, MVMCP. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen snow on Main Street. I’m really looking forward to this event.
L says
Is there any word on the attractions that will be open? Or is it the same every year?
DFB Sarah says
L: Here’s what I found on DisneyWorld.com:
Frontierland
Big Thunder Mountain Railroad
Splash Mountain
Fantasyland
Dumbo the Flying Elephant
“it’s a small world”
Peter Pan’s Flight
Seven Dwarfs Mine Train
Liberty Square
Haunted Mansion
Tomorrowland
Space Mountain
All attractions and experiences are subject to change without notice.
Stephanie says
Are all of the restaurants open during the party? On the My Disney Experience App, I see that Be Our Guest, Cinderella’s Royal Table, Crystal Palace and The Plaza are offering dining options but is that it?
DFB Sarah says
Stephanie, you can expect to see quick service restaurants open, too!
laura says
also, just curious then when I am booking the desert party, do you think it will tell me that it is on the night of a christmas party? I would hate to book it, since it is a hard res to get and then find out later its on the night of the party. I just think its too expensive to pay for the party AND the fireworks ticket.
DFB Sarah says
Laura, the party nights have already been announced, so you can plan around that.
AStraveler says
Thanks for this useful and explaining post. Go to say, that if you have questions related about Disney world you’ll have answers! Thanks
April says
I’ve been reading others blogs on best date to attend the Christmas party.
Which have been Tuesdays?
I planned to go the Nov 14th but thinking about switching and doing it early? But I know with Veterans Day on the 11th and there are dance competitions going on I wonder if it would still be less crowded on a Tuesday rather then a Thursday?
Thoughts?
DFB Sarah says
April, your guess is probably as good as ours. I would expect Veterans’ Day (and weekend) crowds to be heavier, and that could impact Tuesday of that week, too. But there’s really no definitive way to know which will be best.
Debbie says
Any idea if they’ll have a special popcorn (balloon) buckets like they did for Halloween (Pumpkin Mickey)?
DFB Sarah says
Debbie, no word yet, but we’re seeing popcorn buckets for the holidays start to emerge, and we’ll keep updating!
