The Fairy Godmother has been creating all kinds of treats around Disney World for Cinderella‘s 70th anniversary!
While we’ve been snacking on the Cinderella Ice Cream, Cake Pop, and so much MORE, there’s another cupcake making its way into the Disney kingdom!
Cinderella’s iconic color is blue (and lots of it), sooo we love the fact that the new Cinderella Cupcake at Kona Cafe in Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort has a colorful surprise on the inside!
The latest seasonal cupcake is made of yellow cake topped with vanilla buttercream, sugar crystals, and a white chocolate glass slipper. But, the best part about the Cinderella Cupcake…
…just happens to be the WHOLE BLUEBERRIES (!!!) in the middle! The burst of flavor from the berries makes the already super moist cake even better. We almost wish there had been more blueberries suspended throughout it because they were just that good!
The frosting on the top, though, doesn’t make the treat as magical as it could be. The buttercream has an almost freezer-burnt taste to it that wasn’t the most palatable (sad face). We’re hoping we caught these at an off time and that others have better luck! The sweet crunch from the sugar crystals was a nice touch to the frosting, though. And man, oh man, is that frosting on top BLUE! We think that a blueberry frosting on top could have really made the cupcake stand out, like Cinderella at the ball!
Even though we liked the Cindy cupcake at Port Orleans better, you can find the new Cinderella Cupcake at the Polynesian Resort for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit if you’re all about that Cinderella 70th anniversary snack crawl.
