Valentine’s Day is this Friday, people, this is not a drill!
And Disney World has been showing us how much they love us with all the new sweet snacks they’ve been cranking out for the holiday. We don’t mind, we’ll happily dig into a wild Valentine’s Day Cupcake at Animal Kingdom or the Bella Notte Petit Cake at Amorette’s Patisserie. And just before the big day gets here, they put out another sweet treat we had to try.
We found this little bundle of heaven called the Sugar Crust Chocolate Covered Raspberry Mousse (try saying that five times fast) at the Artist’s Palette at Saratoga Springs. It looked too interesting to not try it! The cream puff is sugar-crusted with crunhy red sugar and filled with raspberry chocolate swirled mousse. It’s decorated with a white chocolate X and O, some crispy pearls, and a dusting of edible glitter.
We were excited to bite into that sweet red crust, but unfortunately, it was pretty bland and dry. The crispy sugar looks pretty, but the hard texture took away from the softer puff it covered! The whole thing looked like it would crumble at the slightest touch, but that sugar was a lot tougher than it looked!
Thankfully, the filling completely turned it around! The raspberry mousse was more sweet than tart and the chocolate mousse was creamy and paired well with the raspberry. Compared to some of the other Valentine’s sweets we’ve tried recently, this wasn’t our number one love, but definite points for creativity! You can grab your own and try it at the Artist’s Palette for $4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.
Check out this Valentine’s Cupcake we LOVED at Artist’s Palette!
