Disney Greetings from Magic Kingdom, friends!
While many guests are enjoying their spring break vacation at Disney World this week, Cinderella Castle has just started to undergo its lengthy refurb!
As soon as we walked in, we noticed four large bright orange cranes were flanking Cinderella Castle as the transformation has officially begun!
Initially, we were reassured when we heard Cinderella Castle would remain uncovered while the icon got its new sparkly pink hue paint job, but even we gotta admit — these construction cranes are a bit of an eyesore. Maybe if they were light blue they’d “blend in” a little better?
Either way, Magic Kingdom Vice President Jason Kirk’s initial statement did warn us “while temporary construction equipment may be present while Cinderella Castle receives its royal makeover, it will remain uncovered and we will do our best to ensure guests are still able to capture special photos and memories in the iconic spot.”
A few days ago, we also reported that the moat had been drained. We will continue to update you as progress continues on this massive refurbishment!
And just as a reminder, Disney has changed the times for Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire (the castle show) to evenings.
What do you think of Disney’s plan to keep Cinderella Castle uncovered during its refurb? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!
