Little did we realize when we signed up for Disney+ last November how much use we’d actually be getting out of it! It’s been one of the only things keeping us and our children from completely losing our minds! 😉
Yup! We weren’t expecting our entire family to holed up inside for the last week and a half, but here we ARE, friends. HERE WE ARE! We’re talking non-stop Disney movie marathons!
And remember a while back when we told you Disney+ would be coming to parts of Western Europe on March 24th? Well, today’s the day! Our friends across the pond in the U.K., Ireland, Spain, Italy, and many German-speaking territories finally have access to Disney+ — and we couldn’t be happier for them!
This is probably going to cut into their balcony-singing time, but we think they’re probably alright with switching things up for a bit! The Netherlands has had access to Disney+ for some time since they were a test market for the subscription service, meanwhile, France’s release has been a little delayed and they should be getting Disney+ on April 7th.
According to CNBC, Disney has made the decision to reduce the picture quality since many of these Western countries are in lockdown and there’s bee a steep increase in internet activity. Disney stated, “In light of concerns regarding the current ability of certain broadband infrastructure to handle the anticipated consumer demand for Disney+, the service will now feature a lower overall bandwidth utilization by at least 25%.”
Disney+ costs £5.99 ($7.99) or €6.99 ($7.75) monthly or £59.99 ($79.99) and €69.99 ($77.50) yearly, and just like in the States, there’s a free 7-day trial period!
We wish our friends overseas many, many, MANY hours of happy streaming and to see what new content is coming to Disney+ in April, click here!
