Just moments ago the author of the mega-popular young adult series Percy Jackson & The Olympians made a HUGE announcement on Twitter!

That’s right — Rick Riordan just shared the BIG NEWS that Disney+ will be turning his books into a live-action TV show!
Percy Jackson fans will recall there’s already been a film called The Lightning Thief as well as its sequel, Sea of Monsters. But fans have been waiting for almost a decade to see some of their famous Percy Jackson stories retold!

Rick Riordan says the project is still in its early developmental stages and that he can’t discuss many details at this time other than the Disney+ series will follow the storyline of the original five-book series, starting with The Lightning Thief in season one. Rick Riordan even reassured his readers stating he would be “involved in-person at every step of the show.”

I enjoy the books and they got better as the series went along. But the movies they made out of the first 2 books were not good. They did not do justice to the story and I hope this series does better.
Love the books, hated the movies. Praying this series will be much better!
