With the reopening of Disney World parks set for July 11th, a lot of folks with June reservations have been left in limbo.
Shortly after the official announcement of a reopening date, Disney’s hotel reservations and ticket sales systems went dark so Disney could begin to implement their new reservation system. That meant no new reservations and no modifications to existing reservations. For many folks who just wanted to reschedule their June reservations, that was frustrating. Well, now Disney is allowing guests with check-in dates prior to June 21st to call and modify their reservations.
As of right now, anyone with existing reservations between now and June 21st can call Guest Services at (407) 934-7639 to modify their reservation. The ONLY locations that you can currently rebook for are Disney Vacation Club Deluxe Villas and Fort Wilderness Cabins.
Wherever your original reservation was, you can reschedule for one of these locations but you will need to pay the difference in price if you choose to do so. If you take no action to modify at this time, your reservations prior to June 22nd will be automatically canceled.
We know this is a big change, so if you have any questions please let us know and we will do our best to get those answers for you! We’ll be keeping a close eye on developments with the reservation system at Disney so keep up with DFB for all the latest updates.

Sean Dine says
I just got off the phone with Disney, My vacation was supposed to be Jun 15-20th. They are unable to reschedule my vacation because I had a package with the dining plan & according to the castmember, they do not have the correct codes for the reservation system to change my reservation yet. I was requested to call back next week.
Nick says
Question is, are they letting these people reschedule for July because if so wouldn’t that defeat the purpose of shutting down new tickets and reservations until they got july people setup with the park RSVP system?
Nancy says
We just called to change our July vacation to next year and told we couldn’t. If we wanted to modify them to go to the more expensive resorts we could pay extra and there were no discounts. So we would have to pay more to get less. Not sure how Disney thinks that is even slightly ok. If we didn’t want to do that we could just cancel and get nothing for our troubles. Sorry Disney that’s not ok and will significantly change my mind about spending thousands of dollars there every again. With no discounts what so ever why would anyone want to spend more to get less?
Jeremiah says
We have had a terrible time today trying to reschedule. They don’t have a lot of information and our schedules arrival is 9 days away. So to modify our reservation we have to upgrade(pay the difference) to a deluxe resort or cancel our plan essentially. They don’t have any timeline of when other resorts will open.
Brittany says
From someone that was on the phone with Disney for three hours today…
Apparently, you must also have had a package from what I was told. If you only had a resort reservation but no single/multiple day tickets (I’m an AP) they will not be able to modify your reservation.
Mary says
This is just so wrong!! With everything going on in the world that is adding stress this just added more to it. I’m extremely disappointed in how all
Of this is being handled. I have arrival dates for July 7 and of course will probably cancels because there is no way I can afford a DVC or two cabins which I would need for my family of 8 at fort wilderness. So now who wants to explain to a 4 and 6 year old
That they are not going to Disney. Walt is rolling over in his grave right now with sadness of what has happened to his happiest place on
Earth.
Laure. c says
Hi DFB! I had my original trip planned for April. Then moved it back to mid June. So now that that’s not happening, I was going to reschedule to October. But after reading your article is that not possible if I don’t want wilderness? Or do you mean wilderness is the only place until July hits? Sorry I’m confused on all this info hahah. Thanks for all of your help like always!
Corinne says
I fall into that category. We called yesterday but everything we had the agent check said there was no availability. We were also told there are no current discounts (even for florida residents and passholders), so any room Is full price.
Tasha says
Do you think this will begin to apply to all reservations for the rest of the year??
Margaret Abel says
I have a resort reservation for August. I am from New York. I understand that the 14 day quarantine for New Yorkers coming to Florida is still in effect. What does that mean for my visit? Is there any information on when this will be lifted? What is the best way to get this information? I’m sure I’m not the only New Yorker with this concern.
Dawn says
Is there any word on whether or not the Wine and Dine half marathon be cancelled?
Justin says
Any word on plans for July resort reservations (room only, seperate tickets is my situation) that occur before park opening? Example: July 1
Jean says
Our check in date is June 22 at Beach Club Resort. Obviously we are not going since the parks will not be open, so any idea what options there are for me? Don’t want to cancel outright because I would like to have priority rebooking, but definitely not going to do just a hotel stay (too pricey for that)…..
Richard Lynn Gordon says
June 15 to June 19 trip was cancelled. I was not offered the above option.
Ashley says
Did they come out with packages for 2021? We have our room booked but that’s it.
Simeon says
Small ask, like many we are returning to our yearly Disney track but without our food plan, can you republish your Disney food plan V No food plan YouTube’s?
Think a lot of people are going to need your help!!
Regards
DFB Sarah says
Simeon, shared with AJ and the team!
DFB Sarah says
Ashley, not yet. In 2019, the 2020 packages (online, anyway) came out in June. Now that reservations are on hold for general guests until the new system comes online, we can’t know when the online packages will be available for booking. Just as an FYI, before Disney announced that reservations were on hold, I was told by a reservations CM that while the online packages don’t come online until late into the year, you can normally book 500 days out by calling. (So that might be helpful for future reference if they revert back to those timetables.)
DFB Sarah says
Jean, I would recommend calling Disney directly since you’re missing the cut-off of this modifications news.
DFB Sarah says
Justin, I think Disney is working with folks in that situation when they call in. No promises because it seems mileage is varying for people. But I can understand with a trip under one month away, you might be anxious to figure out what’s going on.
DFB Sarah says
Dawn, so far it looks like it’s still planned, but it may be that runDisney just doesn’t know what November will be like yet. I’m guessing we will get updates as it draws nearer.
DFB Sarah says
Margaret, you’re not; we’ve heard from many concerned readers and followers. Unfortunately, we only know what the State of Florida releases as part of their response, and it appears the quarantine for tristate area visitors is still in place. That does not mean it necessarily will be in August, but we just don’t know what’s going to happen. We will update!
DFB Sarah says
Tasha, no word on that, but we’ll keep watching the dates and updates from Disney.
DFB Sarah says
Laure C., it’s a confusing situation! Disney is beginning to reopen Resorts on June 22, and the only Resorts officially set to reopen on that date are the DVC Resorts (Villas) and Fort Wilderness Cabins. We will have to wait and see what dates the other Resorts open, as Disney hasn’t released information yet. I would say that if you call to reschedule to October, you should be able to book at other Resorts, but I could be wrong.
Pam says
We check in o June 21…can I reschedule??
MissyG says
Hi! I’m a little confused, and maybe you know the answer to this….can guests who have trips planned, where those trips are specifically affected by the closure period, modify their trips into 2021?
Also, do you know what Disney is doing about trips which are currently scheduled post-July 15th, but where guests are part of the CDC’s “high-risk, vulnerable groups” (e.g. individuals with underlying medical conditions, persons over 65 years old, etc.)? Do you know if a cancelation fee would apply?
Thank you, DFB Team, for all of your continued help and support during this time!
DFB Sarah says
Thanks, Brittany!
Holly says
What will happen to all the Flower and Garden merchandise? Only a few things have been available on ShopDisney.
Tina says
DFB Sarah, you can book your room 500 days out but have to wait until package rates are released to complete booking your trip. That’s what we did for our 2021 trip, then covid 19 hit. So now we wait….
Ashley says
I’m the same as Brittany, after an hour of trying to move to a villa (reservation was June 15-18) they finally said it would not allow them to do it because I do not have tickets attached to my package, but that’s because I’m an AP holder. Ugh!!!!!!!!!
DFB Sarah says
Holly, we’ll have to see if it shows up somewhere else.
DFB Sarah says
Pam, you may be able to. It’s worth a try if you’re looking to modify.
DFB Sarah says
MissyG, I think we’ve heard from readers who have rescheduled into 2021, but we haven’t confirmed this. I would not expect cancellation fees to apply (Disney is waiving those up to the day before a trip right now, I believe). Wouldn’t hurt to call in order to ease your mind. Thanks for reading!
Nancy says
You can not reschedule for 2021 I tried yesterday to just move my reservation from this July to next and they said they are not allowed because they have no idea what next year will look like
DFB Sarah says
Thanks, Nancy!
MissyG says
Thank you, DFB Sarah, for your kind help! Thank you also, Nancy, for the additional insight! All of this is most helpful 🙂
Phyllis says
29 days until our scheduled check in. I get a different answer each time a cast member responds to me. I wanted to push our dates back 6 days for when parks are open. Now hearing the upgraded costs, lost our food plan we paid for, may not get to get in the parks, had park hopper with water parks, I moved our flight already because of the short notice. I am a nurse very much in need of my Disney time this year. I had turn in my schedule time off in already. I will be devastated if we are unable to go this year.
DFB Sarah says
Phyllis, hopefully Disney’s new reservation system will get up and running soon so you can get some consistency in the information they’re able to give you. Good luck, and thank you for your work as a nurse.
Lindsay says
My original check in date was June 20th. I called Disney a few days ago and had no issues rescheduling my resort reservation from Pop Century to Fort Wilderness In November (we booked a full hookup RV site, not a cabin). We got a pretty substantial discount as well.
Sean Dine says
I am currently on the phone with Disney, according to the cast member, they are NOT opening the cabins, only the camp sites of Fort Wilderness along with the super expensive DVC villas
DFB Sarah says
Sean, we have also been given opposite information (only cabins), so let me see if the team can clarify.
