Walt Disney World is working on quite a few construction projects lately!
We’ve been keeping an eye on the progress of TRON Lightcycle Power Run in the Magic Kingdom and making frequent Disney Skyliner rides to see how Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure is doing. We popped into Disney’s Animal Kingdom to see if we could find anything new since our last visit. We spotted something very interesting while taking a bumpy ride on Kilimanjaro Safaris!
Towards the end of the safari, we spotted a new structure freshly built on the savannah!
The little building is brand-new and hardly finished. The windows and doors are shuttered and the exterior still needs a lot of work. Grass hasn’t been laid around the building yet and large cement pallets are placed outside.
The building can be seen near the end of the safari ride. It’s placed in plain view of guests riding the attraction.
The purpose of the structure is unclear at the moment. Could it be storage? A new animal habitat? A Cast Member mentioned potential farm animals, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. We’ll continue to check back on the attraction and update you with any new information we receive!
Check out what it’s like to ride Kilimanjaro Safaris now that the theme parks have reopened!

As it is near the end of the ride, I could see it as some type of outpost where animatronic figure could be placed waving goodby to travelers passing by. Maybe they are going to revive an updated version of the original story track that went with the safari similar to the shrunken head chief at the end of the Jungle Cruise attraction. Interesting that the cement pads out front of the building are quite robust and should hold. Considerable amount of weight.
You mention a minimalistic Mickey cell phone case in the last issue and I’ve tried everything possible to order this case from the Disney Marketplace. HOW can I order this please?!?!
